My life would only be half exciting as it is now without the Stones. I LOVE them to the MAX. Sorry, but I had to get that off my chest! I really DO LOVE them!

If you LOVE them to the MAX, PROMISE that you will not post anything on the "Have the Stones made you cringe?" thread.

C'mon Gazza, dont you agree with me? winking smiley Despite all the negativity towards the Stones I must admit that the Stones are my driving musical force in my life! I listen to them about 90% of the time. I can't put in words how much I enjoy their music! I am 24 years old and it's been 9 years since I discovered the Stones thanks to my dad. I just LOVE them! I really do... winking smiley

If ThatsWhatISay did post on the "cringe" thread,
could that be considered "tough love?"

I thought it was a reaction to it, actually...I figured someone would do so.

but of course theyre our driving force...thats why we're here debating stuff in minute detail that most sane people would justifiably consider to be pointless, and thats why we go to all these shows and spend a fortune.

being able to laugh off the absurd and cringeworthy stuff is part of the fun, though. You have to keep some sense of perspective, not take it seriously and have a sense of humour about how daft it all is, I think - and it helps make you appreciate the really glorious stuff all the more.

What an original thought. Wow. I never thought to make a thread where you say nice things about the Stones.

I guess next you'll TELL ME there is a whole message board dedicated to the Rolling Stones......no....that would never happen.

I agree. Like LOVE & HATE there's really a fine line between admiration & cringe.

It is because we are such big fans (admirers) that we cringe when they
do or say something silly and embarassing.

Heck, when britney spears does something ridiculous...i laugh...no cringing at all.

The cringe thread is not a hate thread.

I cringe when some fans blindly defend them. winking smiley
