Thanks bv for these super photos and memories.

It was great to meet you in Barcelona and hope to see you again in the future.

PS. This site has become such a large part of my daily life and I'm sure the same can be said for other members.

Thanks again.

This is another great memory from the rehearsals at Vilvoorde Belgium.
Also there is a great story with this picture. Like with many pictures.
I have been so close to Mick, Keith, Charlie, Ronnie, Bill and Mick Taylor
many many times, closer than a handshake, closer than camera distance,
closer than a foot i.e. face to face. Still I have never ever asked for
an autograph. Don't know why. Just did not feel like it was right.
I would not intrude or bother these guys. Just be there and enjoy being
so close all these times. Being part of the "family"...

Almost every day there was a chance to have signatures in Belgium.
One day I though - may be I should get some marker pens?
I went into the Vilvoorde city, walked around for an hour or so,
and after a while I did find a set of marker pens. Four colors.
Red. Blue. Green. Black. Then I had brought the latest magazine
IORR 57 for some reason. So next day I was there with my pens
and the magazine, with Mick close up on the front page.

Luckily I am in front of the barriers when Mick is walking over.
And luckily I spend all my energy displaying my pen and the mag.
Mick walks over and selects my pen and my mag among the 30-40
pairs of hands from fans - all asking for autographs.
Mick is stepping back a foot or two, to watch the mag.
He obviously sees his picture on the front page.
Then he looks where to sign, he finds a nice spot,
and is doing a great signature. I get my mag back.
Mick is keeping my pen to sign for the others.
Then Mick is singing for others for a while.
Then he is walking over, looking for me,
and he is handing the pen back to me. Thanks Mick!

I made plenty of photos that day like every day.
This is not the best photo, but it is the pen and Mick,
great memories from the tour.

Too bad they didn't play ABB on the "ABB Tour" Kind of a paradox, yes?

I have experienced more than half of each and every song on the album "A Bigger Bang" live on this tour. This is the greatest rock'n'roll band in the world. What more can you expect? I appreciate every day they appear on stage. I don't demand songs or special deals. I just enjoy every show. Why worry. Just enjoy!

I have "enjoyed" exactly 251 times since 1969 (NYC) and am simply expressing an opinion that many others share.

Seeing a slice of history in Shanghai! What a thrill!
And seeing a cutain sand bag fall from the rafters and barely missing Keith during Paint it Black, and this was before the "tree" incident...very profetic

Hey BV, can you let us know what your number is? I would imagine that it is more than 251. Thanks again for the photos/stories- its becoming something I look forward to every day now.

I am lucky to live in a safe and rich part of the world.
This little boy had to sell candy on the street to survive.
I saw these pictures in many countries on travel,
and they told me I should never complain really.

BV -

Why don't you do this more often? I know, you don't have time.

Since the tour is over, you seem incredibly relaxed and willing to spend some time and share -- the best BV that there is.

Your post thanking everyone for various help on the tour was first, now this very long thread with all the fotos and commentary, it's great.

Do you keep a diary as well? Not asking you to post that as I know that is saved for the eventual publication.

Keep it coming.

Thanks for all those little conversations throughout Europe - I would say I saw you AT THE SHOWS at about half to two thirds of the 11 shows I saw (which were only about one third of the number you saw).

It was so strange, at like every show, somewhere, I look around or turn around or someone is tapping me on the shoulder and it's who else?? -- BV. Over and over and over again.

And it all started at the beginning - Werchter - where you said I was the first one you saw wearing the new IORR t shirt, then had someone take my foto which was later posted.

And Gazza has had the same experience running into you at shows.

What are the chances of this happening in crowds of thousands of people?

Anyway, enuf of that. Just keep up the posting.

Oh, one more thing, great to hear you think San Fran is the best city in the US. As I posted yesterday, it is truly "the city that knows how."

Not so much during the shows but at weird times before and after them, eg in the lobby at the Staples Centre in LA on Halloween 2002 during Sheryl Crow's set when we were probably the only two people in the arena who were in that entire area (neither of us knew the other was going to this show), wandering around the deserted mean streets of Glasgow at around midnight looking to find somewhere that was open or in the bogs at the 02 on the last night of the tour. Twice.

I've come to the conclusion that we have identical bladders or something.....

1. At the Four Seasons in SF on the day of the show, I handed Keith a polished, small rock that fit in his palm. I had seen it in a store the night before and it said "Connection".

I don't know how many times he'd played this song, but I'd never seen it outside a Wino's show, and he played it that night.

2. Seeing Keith in Stuttgart, and getting the feeling he was OK after the fall.

3. Collecting the beer we bet after the show in the owners box - My buddies best friend is the owner of the Pittsburgh Pirates, an acquaintance of mine, and we bet a beer that that I could hook his people up with the stones Mgmt and they would play his beautiful baseball stadium -PNC Park.
