New Beatles remasters

Forgive me for asking a Beatles question on the IORR, but I have to admit it, I like The Beatles too. Does anybody know it the Beatles albums will be released in a remastered version soon? Some songs sound absolutely terrible. Just take a listen to A Hard Days Night and compare it to the version on "1".

They should remaster them. Just listen to Help! from the recent Love album and you'll hear how good they'd sound.

The remasters are supposed to be released this year as I recall. I don't know anything more than that.

the whole of Love is superb sound. Amazing considering the age of the tracks.

They were supposed to be released on the 40th anniversary of the release of Sgt Pepper on June 1 this year but then it all went quiet. EMI have already had the albums remastered but are now waiting for a suitable launch date. Hopefully it won't be in 62 for their 50th anniversary!

Agreed, but another point about that version of Help! is that it isn't a remix with parts from other songs added in, its just the original remastered. To my ears anyway.

I heard that the remastering is finished. The next step will be a release on i-tunes (or something like that). Than CDs will follow. It can still take a long time as the copyrights and stuff are very difficult concerning Beatles stuff.

The current CDs sound like shit and have terrible stereo separation. Remasters have been long overdue.

as i've said in another post, the Stones should remaster their catalog too. the '94 versions are okay but not up to today's standards.

I think at this point the Beatles upgrade is imminent - maybe by X-mas '07? I know Olivia Harrison said something lately to that effect, plus with Neil Aspinall out as head of Apple, seems like things are moving forward on that front as well. Of course, this is all rumors & speculation...

I hope they're good, though - mono & stereo of everything up through Pepper (at least), and good mastering... none of that overly maximized crap that's been ruining music lately.

Indeed. The Beatles are about the only one of the great 'classic' bands that have yet to do so, and it is long, long overdue. I can't listen to "Let It Be...Naked" without getting p'd off..."Why can't ALL the albums get the same treatment?!" Hell...give me the f---ing master tapes and I'll do it myself if that's what it takes! All in stereo, too, and I promise, no vocals on one speaker and instruments on the other! I love the Beatles but I can barely listen to 'em anymore, 'cos the 1987 -sorry, guys, but what might have been state of the art then is hopelessly passe now- CD's just sound like s--t. I swear I've made better sounding tapes in my home studio...

As far as I know, the only Beatles product currently scheduled for a fall release is the movie "Help" in a deluxe double DVD

Speaking of remasters, I would love to hear GHS and IORR remastered (or actually remixed).

Bob Clearmountain did such a fantastic job on the GHS session tracks that appeared on Tattoo You that I think their might be a much better album somewhere in there than what appeared in the final product.

The original LPs do fine with me. Good sound quality.
