I was hugely disappointed in SarsStock in Toronto. They had little energy, poor sound and were out of sync the whole show (not to mention they invited Justin Timberlake on stage). They were the headliner, but were far from the best band. AC/DC claimed that honor, followed by Rush and The Guess Who and the Isley Brothers.
I was also disappointed with them once at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse (1989?), but that had more to do with the poor sound than their attempted performance.
Have seen over 20 shows and while some have been far superior to others I would never say I left disappointed in the performance. Now being disappointed in the setlist...thats a horse of a different color.
I was really bummed about Frankfurt 07 - aaaaaarrrrrrgg best tickets in the house - but not one word of Mick was understud inbetween songs - don't ask about music!!!
....see your mouth move, but I can't hear you speak
I think I'm with No Expectations. Seen 19 shows. Can't say I've been dissappointed in the performance. Only the setlist........Altough I did catch the last show of the 40 licks tour in San Jose and the energy level seemed to be lacking in them.
Arena / A'dam '98 Saw two gigs. Ronnie was embarrasing bad, hardly touched his guitar. Poor sound too. Koln 2006 had a bad Ronnie too and a just average Keith. Than I realized I should not see a Stones gig anymore. The guitar driven band does not exist anymore and I am simply bored with the same set list over and over.
In Hanover 2006 I was disappointed when Keith announced "Slipping Away" and when they started "You Got Me Rocking" on the B-stage. I have hoped for "She's So Cold", "This Place Is Empty" and "Get Off Of My Cloud" or "Paint It Black".
The last (make-up) show of the '99 NS Tour in San Jose. Jagger pointed out that the show was being filmed and the audience roared at the cue. But the performance was miserable in that dishonest, stagey, trying too hard sort of way. It was like a bad porno film with lots of action, but no real passion. I said after that show that that film would never see the light of day. As of this writing, it hasn't.
I enjoyed the earlier show in Sacramento in February. But sometime between those two shows I heard Brussels for the first time and my world changed. I realized that I had been had. With that listening (and other boots that I discovered) the band lost its credibility for me.
Stone-relic, I am very surprised you were disappointed in the Radio City gig! I loved that show and I've seen 36 shows! Boy, Baltimore must have been some show! Do tell why you feel that way about Radio City with such an awesome " As Tears Go By" and an even better " Worried About You!".

slight chance...the "next dylan" is playing in the band now, eh? that should be interesting to see how they integrate him.
