KEITH SHOULD APOLOGIZE TO 02 ATTENDEES
Posted by: VOODOODENTIST ()

All this BS about Keith crying about a review in Sweden! So he had a bad night...don't we all! However... Keith played the same 2 songs 3 times at the 02 arena and owes those fans an apolgy. The Swedish press does not pay for tickets so his review is meaningless!

What is NOT MEANINGLESS is the fact that Keith sucked at Show 1 of 02 arena and we accept that as a bad night but autopilot for 3 nioghts...NO EXCUSE! The other 2 shows..well he was great therafter but the same 2 songs for 3 nights...Keith you owe all the fans who spent their hard earned money..especially USA fans who paid 2X the price!

So stop crying in your vodka and apologize!

give over. u should be thankfull their performing at all. Its your choice to see them - go or dont go! simple really. Its been the way thru the tour so it wasnt expected really that he was going to do something remarkably different.

When you spend money on a Stones show you expect "BEST EFFORTS" and everyone has a bad night or bad day at the office
BUT

Same 2 songs 3X

NO EXCUSES!

If a band labels themselves as the greatest rock n roll band in the world than I think its perfectly fine to have high standards for their shows.

If you traveled all the way from the U.S. to London specifically expecting Keith to play 2 different songs every night, then you should ask your mother to apologize - for not aborting.

Now, this is not the kind of tone and language we want on the site, is it?

In my opinion, Keith has nothing to appology for, as long as he performs his two songs as brilliantly as the three nights in the O2. He was glowing, smiling, singing and playing well.
Sometimes I wonder with what kind of attitude people go to shows... All negativity, searching for something to complain about, looking for the next big drama queen whining number... Well, good luck! You did not manage to ruin the 3 nights for the rest of us. Hah!

Why can't someone be disappointed on this board without being insulted in such childish ways.

He paid his money and went to show and was not happy with it. If someone said something about the show and didn't attend it everyone here said, how can you judge a show without being there. Hey I know people who went to the shows and left not only disappointed but angry with the Stones laziness not to play some more variety from the last shows they saw in London last year. Don't blame them one bit.

Though I love them, they are not the world's greatest rock and roll band, live, anymore.

Keith hasn't played with take-no-prisoners fire in a long time, on any consistent basis.

They now have 3 guitars, with Blondie (I'm still not sure why the @#$%& he's there), and are less of a guitar band they they have ever been.

Horns, keyboards and loads of backing vocals may make for a full sound, but I think a chunk of it is there to fill the parts Keith isn't playing, while he's posing.

Ronnie has really turned his playing around. I'm more impressed than ever with him. If Keith think's he's above criticism, and thinks he's in the world's greatest rock-n-roll band, he needs to listen to some of the recordings - without overdubs. He's more characature than anything at this point. Fun to watch, but not giving it what he should.

The band is, oh sorry, was on autopilote during the whole European tour. You just had to follow the set list of previous gigs and you would have got 16 out of 19 songs right almost every night. At least I did. I got 16 right on a number of gigs...

They have never as far as I know put on any "special only tonight" set list during the past 25 years, not even on the last night of any tour.
Only exeption may have been on the Licks tour when they had this " album of the night" concept that in my opinion was really good. Even the Licks club gigs were mostly copy paste gigs. You just had to look on the previous club set list and you knew what they put out on the next club gig.

All the talking about "now we will get a real exclusive set list tonight" was just a dream or a mail to Father Christmas

I understand high expectations and I think it's fair to expect a band to be engaged and professional when it plays for lots of money. I don't understand, however, how a fan presumes he or she has a right to determine what material the band will play.

For any artist in any type of music, that's always been the artist's choice. Some will like the song choices, some will not and some will have a mixed reaction. There's no way to please everyone, particularly with a large catalogue of wonderful material.

It's ok to disagree with bands choices on song selection, and it's fair to voice that opinion, but it is just an opinion. I don't understand how anyone can have the nerve to demand an apology for playing or not playing certain songs. Do you demand an apology from everyone that has a different opinion than you about any aspect of life?

If Keith read your mind, chose to make you happy and decided not to play "You Got the Silver", does he then have to apologize to those in the audience that did want to hear it?

Totally agree. There are too many here who are either uwilling to respond intelligently to commentary that does not agree with their own views or who are simply unable to.

Yes, they probably were on autopilot.
I was listening to an old interview with BW today talking about the Steel Wheels tour and how they had tightened up the arrangements, no more 'free falling' as he put it, where some of the songs would be adlibed with no definite endings or number of verses.
Sadly in the process of this 'tightening' up the band, I think they lost some of the magic.

AHEM - seems to me that most fans paid a lot of money to see them. A quick scan of the previous setlists on this tour will reveal that KR has mostly played those same two songs throughout. Anyone banking on a change in that routine formula has only themselves to blame. Like it or not, he will play whatever the hell he wants and there ain't nothing anyone else can do about that. So Keith overlooked the fact that certain fans were flying over from the US or wherever for three shows - oh dear, what an oversight on his part. And the same applies to the rest of the band. I guess they should also apologize.

Because most people can't think for themselves; they're chavs and yobs who haven't the capacity t analyze anything; it's a pack mentality. It's Facism, that's why.
