After work last night I went along to the 02 to pick up a tour t-shirt and programme, so i can save time when I go to the show on Thursday. Last night North greenwich tube station was empty at 8.30pm no ticket touts on the short walk to the arena and none by the box office or entrance. Around 10 people where looking for cheaper seats but no one was selling! The box office was selling £100 tickets in the rafters and £150 back of the arena but no £70 or £75 side seats all sold out. After picking up my tour t-shirt's at £22 each (+ £1 for the credit card fee!) from the empty front of house stand I made my way back to the bus/Tube station there where more people waiting for a bus then the people looking for a cheaper tickets! Just as I walking back to the station at around 9pm Jimmy Page was just arriving with a friend from the Undergrond station on his way to the gig!
Yeah, damn shame, all that Led Zep money disappeared a long time ago (what is it - about 1 thousand Euro's a minute or something?).... Jimmy Page riding the tube, yeah sure - good one !!! Was Plant selling bootleg Concert T-shirts ?

it's not a big deal in London- i've seen loads of celebs on London Transport. ...it's not as if Page is going to get mobbed by loads of screaming, teenage chav's is it??

Adrian-L, I believe you, I think Pete Townshend actually talks about it - using the tube - in the BEING MICK DVD. BUT.... if I had Jimmy Page cash, I would prefer a nice comfy seat in the back of a decent car and be dropped off out front....or, at least a taxi (those big London Taxi's are great)... I don't know, maybe it's just me but the Tube or Metro (Paris) aren't something I'm totally crazy about - you do what you have to do when traveling....
I think many people, famous or not, prefer to travel in a tube train that is moving to sitting in a stationary car. Not to mention parking in south east london and having to get the tube home anyway when your wheels are no longer there when you return

You would be surprised but many famous people can be next to you. They live too...
the Stones met Sugar Blue in the subway in Paris. Mick was at Smith's library in Paris, buying books and/or magazines last year. a friend of mine was in the plane with Mick in 88 for Australia (or Japan I don't remember exactly). He took a regular flight. Not always jets. etc... so why Jimmy would not be in the tube ? isn't it the sure way to arrive at the time at the gig ??
the most important thing it that Jimmy Page attended a Stones show !! why not a final sunday gig with surprises ?? let's dream
