That hammering thing has been exaggerated.

I HAVE seen them playin a driving rain. It was San Diego in 1997 or 1998, and they put on a great show. They didn't miss any subsequent ones, either.

in prague a few years ago there were 100,000 people waiting in the stadium for the stones -- then it started to RAIN - this big thunder and lightening storm - (rather cool with Prague Castle there in the distance) - we were just sitting there getting soaking wet and it was pretty hilarious - some people were starting to say that maybe they would have to cancel the show - but that didn't seem likely somehow with all those people...so after a while the rain just stopped sort of magically - then after another little while Vaclav Havel came out and said a bunch of stuff in Czech and then .... the Rolling Stones ! (Mick said things in Czech too :-)

The Malie field in The Hague!!! now that was rain! they coulnt do ''Waiting on a friend'' because of the rain...but mon...they were great!!
