Great tour indeed. It's not my film, I found it on youtube. I have some stuff from 1976 and 1977 that I havent seen on youtube, I ll try to upload it in the future.

In 76 they were in my hometown..that was a real big deal..and i mean a real big deal and they were so loud!! You cant believe! everybody in The Hague could hear it...so did i !! I was near! Lots of riots and Hells Angels..Nic can tell you more me too but its Sunday remember!Nic did ya went to both shows?I was a very young kid i was so excited i thought damm those guys are cool!!

Whether a gig was good depends much on one's personal condition and surroundings.

HOWEVER . . in 76 I had already seen 2 shows in 1970 and 5 or 6 in 73.

In 76 I've been to 7-8 gigs (partly cause I worked for local promoters back than). And I remember that f.i. after Dortmund and Den Haag I thought those were my best Stones gigs yet (although I liked the Taylor-Stones)!

Unfortunately later the boots from those days never had the same power.
Live the guitars really smoked on this tour.

Yes, I forgot about that!

Den Haag was a smaller but packed stadium, ca. 25000.
People were very stoned and there was an agressive mood.When Stones entered stage the stadium exploded. Than ca. 20 H.Angels made their way through the masses to the front. They pushed people and started fights. Than police with shields and truncheons stormed into the audience to chase them away.

What a nice memories!!! and it was only ....31 years ago.
It was my first Stone gig and in my hometown.

We should wait until 76, after Franco's death to see the Stones in Spain.
From these days and specialy in Stones concert I remember... FREEDOM

It was a pity how the spanish police act before, during and after the concert. It seems that Mick said to the spanish tv that they didn't visit Spain before because they believe Spain was Africa,and this joke was not well understood.

It was a pity that Robin Trower didn't play as a warm-up artist due an illness, but it was worse to listen again John Miles and his "music" (He was also warm-up artist in a Jethro Tull concert in May 76)

Sound was perfect. MIDNIGHT RAMBLER was my favourite song.... also STAR @#$%&; and although SATISFACTION was not in the set list, all the people left the bullfighter ring extremly satisfied to have seen the Stones in Barcelona for the first time.

For the ones interested in memorabilia, I still consider that the Stones played on saturday 12th and not friday 11th. The reason is very simple, they appeared on stage after noon. Goodnight!!

I'm sorry but I'm afraid it doesn't exist a full copy of that concert, neither a full tape of the complete show.
This youtube, seems to be taken from the local tv news, plus an extra editing with different pictures of that show.

The guy that appears with Ron and Keith, (long sleeve colour shirts, with white neck) is Gay Mercader (www.gamerco.es). He is the spanish promoter of the Stones shows. He was also as Stones guests in MNAC Salo Oval, with DB private show, one month ago.
Thanks to him, we could see in earlies 70', King Crismon, Genesis(Gabriel-Collins together), Focus, ELP, Queen, Chicago, ACDC, Rory Gallagher,Lou Reed, Eric Clapton, Bob Marley....Thanks to him, Barcelona appeared for the first time in European Tours.
He also was the promoter of first Bruce show in Barcelona and Spain, April 81, (according the same Bruce, one the his best ever shows).

LA FORUM if interested I may explain more about Stones visit, because that gig was very peculiar

I ll have a look asap but if you have the same dvd collection from 1976 with the docu and no Haag I'm wrong. But Ill have a look. Have I mixed it up with 1973? The Haag bit? Have to go to my vaults. :-
