Do you hold the same standards for yourself as you do the Stones?

The demand for perfection, the critiques and the whining are reaching all-time highs on this board. Just out of curiosity, do you hold yourself to the same standards that you do for a rock n roll band?

for me, it`s special for the stones, not necessary to be perfect.
i love, that they don`t became really grandfathers, instead
they played long tours over the dacades till now, where they are in the 60`.
i would go also to be their gigs, when they are unable to play r&r, and instead
singing carols fot 2 hours

No,but I don't charge people large sums of money to see me perform..........I'll do it for free after a couple of beers.

Yes I do. Keith used to be real anal about his guitar playing, played all the time, told Taylor turn it down and picked up lots from Ry Cooder, Gram Parsons, Brian Jones and others.

Well, I do try my darnedest to remain upright, especially in front of large numbers of people. I also try to focus and remember where I am -- but my standards, for myself, are not as high as they once were. I think your standards for yourself should change as you age.

What a great topic!

I can proudly say that no one complains about my set list, my alcohol and substance abuse problems, my eyes, my brain, my women, my men, my children.

There are complaints, however, about the size of my bank account.

Well to my eyes this is the point.
If you are the most expensive Rockband in the world and you take those amounts of money from your fans you should at least keep a certain level with your playin.

Doesn't mean you have to be perfect - they never were - but ruining most intros of even the simple songs and generally often playin on Autopilot with some nice gestures mixed in to me is not really enough.
They could do better but are too lazy and satiated.
That's why some critic is allowed.

When I'm singing in the shower I try to vary my setlist just in case any neighbors are evesdropping. Wouldn't want them to go to an online forum and start complaining about my setlist.
