well - the stones gave us the concept in '97 and then stuck to it through '99...it seemed like it was a way to present some "rarities" in a "stripped down" fashion. Now, no rarities and no stripping.....

It's All Over Now in Paris was great. I do agree about the lack of variety but when I'm there I'm loving it anyway.

This isn't the kindest thing to say, but Keith on backing vocals? He needs a teleprompter for his between song comments! These boys are cardboard cut outs! They're doing this tour for the money and nothing else, and it's evident from the setlists and comments on this forum.

Bobo-how long was Rambler at the first DC show-no security, March 1999. I had plenty of Miller Lite that night and would interested to see if the song was as long as I thought.

Thanks

Crazy Mama was done in Albuquerque( '97). LQ in San Diego was fantastic. I think for song selection that the No Security tour had the best choices( IMOO). I think the b-stage has worn out its novelty.

No, it hasn't but they wear it out by the unimaginative setlist. You could use it forever for the 'rarities'. I never understood why they do not play songs like Heart of stone, She smiled sweetly or That's how strong my love is, Everybody needs somebody to love, all of which they have rehearsed and performed recently, on the B-stage.

----I think it is great.

I don´t think this is the point, nobody is bored with the Stones (in fact, we spend our live writing here and going to the shows) and we (or at least myself) love listen IORR, HTW and Sastisfaction (Miss You is other theme.. ejem..)... the fact is discuss about set in the b-stage... and how this turn of play really not usual songs (Crazy Mama, Route 66, Little Queenie, Respectable, @#$%&, Get Off...) to play just war horses...

We all want listen war horses... but myself, at least myself... think than the b-stage is the right place for got this not so usual songs!!!

And no, I¨m not bored about the Stones.... and probably, never I´ll be....

I assume for the B-Stage it is just that we expect one exceptional song like the ones all named. I would also appreciate if they even would skip one or two of the big ones like Satisfaction. I mean they never played it in 76 so why playing it today at every show. Ok they do a little bit differ than in 82, but still changes would be nice.
However all in all I like it.

here is a novel idea.

why couldnt they lengthen the time the band are on the b-stage.

play shortened versions of stripped down oldies.

instead of 16 songs on the main stage and 3 on the b-stage.

it could be 14 main stage and 6 or 7 short versions b-stage.

and a wee songlist to help.

she said yeah
thats how strong my love is
back street girl
heart of stone
its all over now
carol
routte 66
come on
tell me
empty heart
as tears go by
its alright

come on mick, you know it makes sense.

Its not as black and white as that. Playing the same bloody songs on it every night and having all of them as warhorses is a wasted opportunity. The crowd around that area will go on nuts seeing them close up regardless of what theyre playing, so why not mix it up a bit or show a bit more depth in the selections

being bored with the lack of variety in a 4-song slot every night which on previous tours showed some depth and creativity is not the same as being "bored with the Stones". Christ, even their keyboard player has publicly admitted that HE 'hates' the lack of imagination they show sometimes.

Yep, Gazza, that's eyactly the point of this discussion and I completely agree with you!

Although I was happy with Respectable in Frankfurt this year, the song I think would tear down the stadium would be @#$%&!
And there are numerous other songs already mentioned above which would fit perfectly, too!
