Does anybody know the type of straplock Keith and Ronnie are using (to make sure the strap doesn't fall off the guitar)?

Best, RB

Dunlops. I preffer Schallers because the strap doesn't stand so far off the guitar..but it's just a matter of taste really. [and of wealth...the Dunlops are a bit more expensive ;^) ]

I must admit that I'm still using the rubber rings off the lids of Grolsch bottles that a fellow guitar player gave me in rehearsal ages ago. The colour clashes with my strap, but they work well.

I just use safety pins.. Works perfectly, and very cost effective smiling smiley

I have tried both Schallers and Dunlop and I think the latter are far more safer.
With Schallers you tend to lose the little nut on the tip that should keep the strap safely attached to the guitar.

Yeah true, I've had the whole damn thing drop out of the strap^^
I still use them on some guitars but the newer ones have Flensburger rubber rings on them.
btw, them bastids aren't making them out of rubber anymore but some useless plastic stuff. so even the rubber thingys are vintage now.
but I do have quite a few of 'em.

You need to check your strap-locks when doing this winking smiley

I saw Warner Hodges with Jason & the Scorchers doing this in the late 80's or early 90's in Berlin.

absolutely great band.

The Grolsch rings work great ;^).
I agree about the nut issue with Schallers...but it's really just a case of checking it as part of everyday maintenance.
[You know...count the strings on the guitar...make sure the tubes light up so the spiders can see where they're going. Stuff like that ;^) ]
