It's only 750 km from where I live. So I COULD go. But can I get in?

to find a hotel could be a problem too I think :-)

Tickets shouldn't be a problem, although on www.ticketboerse.ch people ask stupid prices for their (in principle) gratis tickets...

Just checked the Lausanne hostels and cheap hotels, all of them full on 11 August. This seems to turn out a long long night...

well, the ticket is valid for all trains from the 10th until the 12th. So you take a train back to Zurich or Basel and keep on partying...

Can I ask you, is this train ticket valid on any particular route(s) ? The reason I ask is because if I attended this show, I would fly into Geneva and need to get from there to Lausanne and back ?

Valid for the whole country... so you can also have a look the day after at the beautiful alps...

Sjouke, I doubt that you can ride around the country with the ticket as much as you want for two days in a hop-on-hop-off way - it is valid to go from any place in Switzerland to Lausanne and back from the show on the 12th.

There's no go for a hotel stay with reliable prices. Checked them too. Also Evian-les-bains is nearly booked-out.

Keep on rollin'

That´s bad news, well, guess after the long night-ride to Lausanne we all have to go without sleep for two nights

Who is going to prove from where and to where you are coming or going if you travel by train?
I don't think the Swiss railway will give problems these days when you have the ticket.

OK, if you are from Switzerland and say so, you must know Swiss railway better than I do.

It is very clear that it is the shortest and best route you have to take from your hometown to Lausanne. Or from the Border directly with the nearest train connection to Lausanne.
You cannot go via Lugano/Ticino to Lausanne and then back home via Zermatt.
I would be carefull in that.
They surely do not mind if you right another return route.
That was also last year by the way.

Regarding tickets I strongly suggest to get them beforehand as the tickets includes the trainride. I do not think that a lot of tickets are available in front of the stadium, but I can be wrong.

The stage is in construction et I just saw the trucks on the parking near the stadium this morning. Just impossible to penetrate into the place...

Try www.ticketboerse.ch or ebay.ch or ricardo.ch for tickets.

Currently, we have torrential rains all over Switzerland. It is all in the news, even here in Basel, the Rhine is almost over flooding. Let's hope Saturday the weather will be better. At least they promise it should...

Trains will be extremely full on Saturday especially around Zurich. There is the event Street Parade, where about 800'000 techno freaks will be. Well, we know where the real music is taking place, don't we?

Weather is improving after 3 days of intense rain ( and snow over 2,000 meters high). While walking in the Mont-Blanc valleyfor some days, I was thinking to the workers building up the stage. It should be quite hard to make it under this crazy temperature. But no rain is forecasted for next Saturday.

Yes, hopefully the weather is better on Saturday... I don't like another experience like Nijmegen again. This morning I walked along the Rhine which was at critical level too...
