The '76 Paris shows...

Every once in a while a dvd does the rounds on ebay/torrent sites which has on one disc the broadcasted version of this famous concert, and on another disc the entire unedited version.

My question, then, is what's the quality of the second disc like? I don't want to put the effort into downloading or buying the thing if it's barely watchable. But by all accounts, it was a particularly "on" night, so I'm curious...

Thanks
T

hm: the version i have is complete, and mostly very good quality, but there are some hiccups in a few numbers -
flaws in the master material, i've been told. still, i watch it a lot more often than the broadcast version
and i'd agree that it's a "must"

On seeing the edited version for the first time back in September 1977 (it's initial UK airing) I thought at the time that the Stones' performance was actually quite poor in comparison with the Earls Court shows from that tour.

On seeing the DVD again, a year or two ago, my views haven't changed one iota!

Worth purchasing for historical purposes mind.

I have one called : The Stones aux Abattoirs ". Is it the one you are refering to. Fench TV ( A2 ) filmed one of the show. In fact it was directed by a once Stones fan : Freddie Hausser. Maybe they will release it some day.

The double DVD contains the entire broadcast - June 4th/6th/7th on disc 1, and the unaired complete show from June 6th on disc 2.

I think the broadcasted version is better than the complete June 6th show, the footage is too dark for that concert - while the broadcast is allright.
