My personal favorite - even though "Cherry" is one of my least favorite songs.

Exactly my feelings.. and following Black Blue.. Love you Live is the best live album... very rough, very tough at first, but very rich and very nice, pure Rolling Stones for me... and no overdubs (you can check on youtube, Live in Paris 76)...

Fantastic album, sligtly better than Some Girls.I've been listening to it a lot these days. Now when I think of it, Memory Motel should be played as often as some of the warhorses. The album has only one weak song,Cherry Oh Baby. They could have put Worried about you in its place.

What I especially find great about this album is all those guitar players auditioning for the stones, playing their guts out when given chance.Just listen to the Wayne Perkins's guitar work on Hand of Fate and Harvey Mendel on Hot Stuff.Ronnie is also on fire on Hey Negrita.BTW which other songs is he on?

do any of you like UB40's version of cherry? i totally agree with memory motel....heard them play it before and it's such a great song....nothing like being at a show and seeing a piano come out for mick.....when they played worried about you in NYC and The Astoria it was sooo great

black and blue is a decent album.

has a great mix to it, but isnt long enough and not enough great material on it.

maybe if they had added 2 more songs of the standard of shattered or neighbours, it would be seen as one of the great albums.

as it is, it never really is considered a great album.

always has very mixed reviews.

Same here, Elmo. It's dreadful. I'm not big on Hey Negrita or Melody either. Love the rest of it though.

Crazy Mama is great raunchy r&r. Always seemed like the most Face's like Stones tune. (But I think Ronnie had nothing to do with that one)

Yeah its so good...and Melody is so relaxt....a duet with Billy...i just love it!And Fool to Cry...is a real nice ballad.....it was a brave album....people expect R&R from the Stones...and they gave so much more!!

Did the band travel to Sanibel Island for the sole purpose of posing for the cover photos? I wonder why that locale was chosen.

(excuse my english)
Is not one of the best. Only 8 songs is a little deception. Is one of the most irregulars, heterogeneous
- 2 balads (the best)
- 2 rocks (good)
- 2 funky
- 1 reggae
- 1 strange song (Melody)
GHS is better

it seems like for a long stretch of time every other ablum was more eclectic. It went from an eclectic mix to more experimental to comparitvly more straight ahead rock and blues every other ablum, between 68-81
