Hi,
just one question concerning O2 arena & London hotel district?
Which "hip" district is very close to O2? Is Kensington for example far away or what would you recommenend?

Kensington is very far away. Shoreditch, Hoxton and Clerkenwell are all much closer.
If looking for somewhere "hip" to stay I recommend the Zetter www.thezetter.com or The Rookery [www.hazlittshotel.com] in Clerkenwell
