Don't go getting too excited like I did, they are only playing 8 or 9 selected tracks.

Yeah that's right ,they played Tumblin Dice just now and then talked over the outro and the dj proceded to slag them off, shame really as I wore out my tape of the original broadcast years ago.
I'll have to beg steal or borrow another copy now that I am reminded of it

If anyone is good at transferring old cassettes, I'd be happy to fish out my tapes from the original BBC broadcast.

I hope they didnt do what Virgin did with their Isle of Wight coverage and play songs off a live album (Live licks) instead, passing it off as music recorded that day..

If you hear Mick talking in Japanese, you'll know something fishy is up...

Very disappointing - only played Tumbling Dice early on in the show and then after waiting all the way to 12.30 a.m. four more songs (unless I missed any more odd single ones - I was listening with half an ear while watching VH1 who were showing an hour of Stones videos followed by the Truth & Lies documentary.

And then my video recorder (the only means I have of recording BBC6 at the moment) threw some kind of wobbly and failed to record the few songs there were. I think I'll go looking for a download since what they did play sounded good.

they played 5 songs in total, a complete letdown!!

Why advertise something that it is not going to be the full item.

The BBC show is streaming until next Thursday here:

With the aid of this track list you can use the BBC Radio Player Fast Forward function to get to within 5 minutes of the segment of the show you want to hear:

I recorded The Stones' segments, and upped them to RS:

[rapidshare.com]

MP3 x 2, 12.2 MB @ 64 kbps. about 27 min.(Low BR because BBC streams to me at about 50 kbps).

Tracks:
1. Tumbling Dice
2. Miss You
3. Mixed Emotions
4. Start Me Up
5. You Can't Always Get

Sounds like a good show.
Thanks to vudicus, not only for the heads up about this show, but for indirectly re-introducing me to BBC 6 Music. Not too keen on their music, actually, but they've got some nice documentaries.

Cheers.
