Just over four weeks to go....

maybe its time to start SERIOUSLY thinking about a 'base camp' for the many fans from IORR, Rocks Off,Shidoobee etc to meet up before the three shows that week?

Maybe we should start throwing some ideas around and decide on somewhere pretty soon?

I realise there are plenty of bars within the 02 complex, but maybe it would be easier to arrange somewhere not "on site" but reasonably close?

Gazza the description of the Pilot Inn sounds great:

A lovely old pub that only narrowly missed being demolished to make way for the Greenwich Peninsula revitalisation. It's got something for everybody, good beer, an enormous range of food, a bit of history (the pub, and the terrace it sits in, are just about the only old bits left in these parts), beer garden, TV - the lot. Cheerful, well kept and very pleasant.

is it near the O2 (or not too far)??

yes..if you click on the pub name on the left it gives you a description of the location.

Its a few hundred yards from North Greenwich tube station which appears to be the nearest station to the venue (which is why I posted that link). The 02 is that circular thing just to the north of the tube station right on the river.

Sounds good. I don't actuall beleive there are many other pubs in the near surrounding area.

The Piolet Inn is the only pub listed on beer in the evening, so either its the only one, or any others haven't being reccomended.

I will probably be often at PRIDE OF PADDINGTON. Because I will probably be staying in the Paddington area, where most of the hotels are, and also I need to fly in&out several times. It is just across the street of Paddington station, train and tubes. The Heathrox Express also goes from/to Paddington. I think the O2 area is not interesting. It is actually pretty boring, and on show day the few bars there will be over-booked and over-priced and with little service. I think it is important to have a HUB. May be not PRIDE but for me that one always serves well. There is another pub just two blocks up on the same street which claims to be the "longest" pub in London, and also some pubs which are bigger and more touristics. Suggestions are welcome. Just make sure it is large, fresh air, also with pub food and central for the tubes. Thanks!

personally, from experience, I think if possible its best to get somewhere thats within easy commuting distance (and also time-wise) to the venue (the Cabbage Patch was pretty ideal for that last year). Coming from a city centre pub out to the Docklands might leave a lot of folks in a bit of a rush.

stewed & Keefed over on the Rocks Off board was at the O2 arena recently. He said that a couple of the bars were over priced, but some were reasonable enough. This is London after all.

A pub of historical interest to meet in would be the Lylods No 1 on the Charing X Road. It used to be the Marquee Club

Yeah, theyre probably going to be a bit pricey, being London, but you expect that.

Getting our own little 'hub' as Bjornulf calls it might be a bit trickier within the O2 complex, I would have thought, especially with around 20,000 people converging on the place

my intention is to fly down from glasgow to stanstead early sunday morning.

then up to victoria before making my way over towards the o2 centre.

hopefully i will find a pub quite near to it and with a chippy near by for some pre concert grub.

and then meet up with other stones fans before eventually making our way over for the start of the concert.
