Private gig, part II
Posted by: Urban Wheel ()
Date: July 17, 2007 16:28

I read the thread about organizing a private gig with the stones. I am looking forward to it. What I did?

I retrieved the personal email adress of the Stones' financial wizzard in Amsterdam to give me some information about the boys and/or Mr. Cohl. Explained what our poor souls would like and now it is just waiting if the fish in the stones pool will bite!

To be continued!

Still working on the same thing, but my contact goes into another direction. Most possible date -if it should happen- will be during the next tour, I think....

Keep on rollin'

Hi boys. Continue dreaming...as a gig like this cost MONEY and the worst....TIME.
Agency working for DB started in February-March all this matter. The cattering firm which I'm working was contacted at that time to be in a event middle July for a very important bank.
On April they were in Barcelona checking everything, dates, the venue, different catterings,...On 23rd April they were in the cattering I'm working, and I din't realize that the final customer was DB, and that it was the third consecutive year that DB was with such private shows. So in spring (March-April) they already knew eveything about Stones Tour, dates and so.
Probably someone is already working for Barcelona 2008 DB private show.

In Jan 1999 I hand delivered about 100 letters that were sent to me by subscribers of Undercover for a private gig I envisioned the boys doing for their most loyal fans in SF. I gave them to Keith (and made a copy for Mick) at the Fillmore rehearsals.

The response I got was that it wasn't contracturally possible, no explanation, but I was told that Mick was touched by the letters and as a result he added the song Undercover to the opening night set list in Oakland, a song I don't believe they performed at any other venue on the tour?

My guess is the timing would have to be perfect, the mood right, the looopholes in place and something they would do as the end approached, but still not likely.

Maybe they read these and they will give a free concert in the end of the tour, for all registered members of IORR, Rocks Off, and Shidobbe....( it doesnt cost a dime to dream!)
How many are we in IORR?? Bv??

How about a "WINOS" show after the tour in Philly or NYC?
Would cost less.......

Well BV said that they would play for anybody for the right amount of money...........After doing some real quick, rough math. If Gazza is right about 8000 IORR members and they charge 5 mill for a private gig. It comes out to $625 per person.........Did I do that right?

Hai my fellow dreamers,

I've got a message back, our message is on the blackberry of Mr Cohl!
He's informed of our interest, he's taking it in consideration.

Time waits for no one...except for the IORR clan!

I’d like to be in!
But if we want a small theatre gig about 2000 visitors, costs are $2500 per person!!. And flights, hotels, meals, beers and so on.
Dreaming is my job, and I can always sell my apartment…

Do the calculations on approx. 6000 people
Rent Le Zenith, in Paris, a nice arena they never played : [www.le-zenith.com] check the Technique thread.
Make your calculations on this basis and see how much it will be

On this dream WE All can be part of. But dreams can came true, I have a special felling about this....its gonna happen , Its the Rolling Stones turn to say that they love us too, by giving us a private and FREE concert, after years of devotion...I have a dream...

its sounds amazing....really amazing...whoever had the idea...a spark of genius!
imagine deciding a setlist...:-)

indeed that is if the Stones' wretched management are interested/give a shit

if it starts rolling, watch posters jump on the bandwagon! they'll be sorry. if not, why, we'll get the "Rollin' Stoned" to play for us.

i wonder how much your next favourite band would play for?!

this idea has already been mentioned.
Paulywaul tried to fix them up for an IORR private gig ,around
the time of the o2 shows... but "Keef" is on his hols/vacation.

I'm sure something could be arranged for another time, though.
