Bad investments force Ronnie to borrow $$$ from Mick & Keith.

maybe it is right but i remember an article in "guitarist mag" reporting Ronnie to be very rich, 10 years ago because he made some fine investments !
but you can lost some money very fast too.

I am sure Ronnie is $$$$ today as the BB tour is the most profitable tour of all time (even better than VL tour).

sorry, i didn't mean to be snippy - i just get tired of these little filler items
that are mostly regurgitations of old news with most of the facts/context stripped off and/or twisted around
sure, it may be that Ronnie had a cash-flow pinch for a week or two there.
i know he did make some bad investments a decade or two ago,
but the cat - bless him! - does not have what anyone normal means by "financial problems".

Not 'has financial problems' , but 'had'....

Ronnie was almost broke in the late 80's but his current estimated wealth is about £80 million. I wish I had financial problems like that!

He was given a full membership prior to Wyman leaving - in other words, a 4-way split of touring money. He should be in really good shspe financially. Of course, he's nowhere near Mick and Keith's level due to songwriting royalties.

I doesn't know where to spend his money on (at least a part of it he doesn't..;-)

Yeah but the song writing royalties can make a BIG difference. Also, is he part of that deal the Stones cut in the very early 70's putting their entire company through Holland thereby cutting their payable taxes down to an UNBELIEVABLE 1.6%? If he's not in on that deal he's paying a lot more than the 3 core members (Charlie, Mick, Keith) who are all in on it. Taxes can drain you like some Government Dracula, let me tell you about it from personal experience.....

He is lucky he doesn't have to buy a ticket to see the Stones - then he really would have financial problems.

He wasn't able to fill-up the tank of his brand new motorhome at an IOW gas (petrol) station. He had to ask Mick for a few pounds. So there you have, Ronnies financial trouble.

I don't know about the borrowing $ from Mick and Keith, but the rest I know to be true. I believe he had a lot invested in Enron and World Com when they went bust. I'm sure he's got his pockets full once again.

First off - this article dates back to information regarding 2004?? We are now at 2007 - at least the last time I looked. But maybe time is really relative?

As for the content, I read somewhere, that Rupert put up an arrangement for Ronnie like the other Stones. I mean - they learnt as they went along - why should he not take advantage of their know-how? Otherwise it seems a bit silly to me (on the other hand, there is the story - related by Ronnie himself - that at one time he okayed a contract but was told by somebody that he was holding the contract upside down *lol*)

And 250.000 quid is not really a lot of money, is it? He probably just had cash flow problems and needed the money for at short time to tide him over. Ronnie said somewhere, that in the 1980's he was really strapped for money but after he was made a partner - in 1993? - it's been easy going.

When the going gets weird, the weird turns pro

Ronnie could use a few pounds...............on his frame, not in his wallet.

I read he put all his money in Enron and later bet a ton of $ on The Bears to win the Superbowl last year. Also he bet he could play Sway better than Taylor.

I don't know how well the Rod Stewart Mercury classics ('69 - 74), or various post-Wood Stones albums (Tattoo You, Emotional Rescue, Undercover, Dirty Work, Sucking In The 70s, Rarities) sell as catalog - certain titles it would not much I'd guess - but Wood has songwriting credits throughout, as he does on all Faces albums, box set/comps, etc...And his paintings fetch big bucks, according to the April Mojo...
