Extra concerts in September?

I heard the local government from Zaragoza is interested in getting the Stones in September same as they did in Licks tour

where did you hear this ISAKAPI?

sales in Spain weren't that impressive for 4 shows - but 54th show at the end of the tour would be nice touch - I can't go to the last one in London, but if Zaragoza wouldn't happen I would give it a try (quite cheaper is Spain compared to UK ;P)

In the concert of San Sebastian I met some people from Zaragoza area (300 km from BCN and Madrid) and one of the ladies who has contacts in the administration told me this. In september there are some celebrations and festivals in Zaragoza, so the community president would like to get again the Stones. It was very succesfull in Licks tour.

That's the story, but I don't know further details. So I wonder if there are some more demand of concerts what they will do?

yeah - but on Licks they weren't supposed to play the final gigs in London just like now they do. That might be crucial. And despite this - even if administration is interested - there is still a long way till the final decision.

Anyway, thanks - and it would be great, I think, keeping my fingers crossed smiling smiley

I think it's time they finish this tour leg and put the ABB tour to rest.
The warhorses are getting old and tired, the stage is falling apart and crowds are dwindling.
Let them rest.
Let them re-energize.
Let them refocus.
Let them reorganize.

Let them come back!

New stage, new setlist, new sound, new excitement!

If I remember well, last year, the El Ejido show was suppossed to be signed with Zaragoza.... and something happened (something = more money) and goes to El Ejido...... since then, I don´t think the relations between the Zaragoza council and the Stones are the best.....

Anyway, I´m with paulywaul..... no Zaragoza, no Israel, no South Africa, nothing at all....... 26 August will be the last show of the Stones... (in 2 or 3 years... I hope!!)...

There is a BIG difference in wanting the Stones and having the Stones.

FYI they finish off with the last stadium gig at Slane Castle in Ireland on August 18. There are three stadium crew, and they are finished that week with those shows. To extend the tour would cost a lot and require the same as they did during LICKS, i.e. not just one show but 5-6.

I think you're absolutely right.
We've been lucky having them around for so long. I think they ought to stop touring after this tour. I think it would be nice if they stop touring while they still can deliver a great show and be remembered for what they are and were, the greatest rock'n'roll band.
The day WILL come and it will come within a few years when they're not able to deliver anymore...and I would hate to see this band going out as a freak show. Even though they've the unexpected and continued for much longer than anyone could expect...well they're just human and I dont think, I would want to see the Stones touring when they are +70.

the tour ends in August in London. Chuck Leavell's site already indicates that he has other non-Stones related concert dates during September.

Its now July 3rd. If there were to be more shows later this year, you'd have heard about it by now.

We will see at the end of the 02 triple act if what the Stones will do.
Despite the fact that the stage changed this is ABB is repeating Licks Tour somehow. I am looking still forward the changes in the set list which occurs in small patches.

from fortylicksfanclub.com:

Gerucht: extra concert NL of België ! (11/06/07)
Vandaag vernam FLF het gerucht dat er sprake is van een extra concert in NL of België. Dit zou gaan om een stadionconcert, aan het einde van de tour.

which means there are rumors about an extra show in holland or belgium... we just see...

Hey NOSF. Didn't you go to Paris? Wasn't that a great show? Do they really need to refocus?

Dr Bryant,
Yes, I was at Paris and it was a great show to me!
I based my comments on mostly what I'm reading here about shoddy performances, poor sound, etc... I think if they go away for a while then people will appreciate them more. I believe ABB is their longest tour ever?

I didn't hear it personally, but a friend of mine heard on Sunday a DJ on radio station KLOS here in Los Angeles repeat the rumor that the Stones may be returning to the US (and presumably the DJ meant L.A.) this fall.

The DJ was most likely referring back to those rumors that were out there of New York in November and did not have anything new to back up what he was saying.

Well...I would be very surprised if they do.
I would imagine that they need a break when they've done this european tour and still believe, that the concert in London will be the final concert and at least the end of tours as we've known.
I really do feel that the August 26th will be the final at all...but I might be wrong...and you can throw stones after me if I'm wrong :-)

Even you base your comments on that, you could have notice that the complaints about their performances were refering basically to the first gigs, not to the recent concerts. So...

Personally, i trust what i'm hearing from the Stones being on stage much more than what i'm reading here (especially HERE...) about their performances.
