Great collection. On a recent interview show Steven Van Zandt proclaimed it to be the number one must have among rock albums/collections etc.

Yeah, the collection of the songs is great but some aren´t the real versions, somebody would know more, but it´s not always the single version

I meant not all songs on this collection were single versions, and sympathy was a single but not a regular released

I was so excited when this collection was released because I couldn't find Metamorphasis on CD at the time (maybe it wasn't released yet, I forget), so it was fantastic to have "I Don't Know Why" on cd.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

The Singles Collection is wonderful and esential for any true Stones fan. Along with the Singles box set, it's the only place you'l find gems such as I Wanna Be Your Man and forgotten B-sides like Who's Been Driving Your Plane.

The original 1986 release was a bit of a cock up however. They included the UK guitar non-single version of Time Is On My Side instead of the United States organ version.

Sympathy was releast in Belgium, Germany and Holland
Surprice, Surprice in France
I Don't Know Why, Out Of Time in Germany - all from DECCA

Many Countries released their own picture sleeves
they also used unique compilations that different from the UK releases.

Yes that´s true rusty but i think there were a few mistakes because of brown sugar and wild horses, no london 45s and if you count sympathy from germany than there should be every song from single releases from the decca label, anyway, a great box indeed

These 3 discs of their singles in chronological order are a potted history of the early Stones. Disc 1 has their first breakthrough singles - mostly covers until Satisfaction gives a blazing foretaste of things to come. Then at the end of disc 2, after We Love You and Dandelion and She's a Rainbow and 2000 Light Years and In Another Land and The Lantern, you can hear the sudden change of mood as they return from their psychedelic adventures to the stripped-down reality of Jumping Jack Flash.

And of course there are all those lovely B-sides...
