Why is everyone fasinated with Mick Taylor on this board!

Keef said he'll die onstage...no retirement...
Mick Taylor is way too fat to fit on the Stones stage anyway...he'd crash through the stage floor and wouldn't be able to fit into those tight stage pants...plus the B-stage couldn't support him...
So, Keef it is and always will be until the end!

hmmmm, interesting idea. bring blondie more up front in the show...style, talent, charisma, technique, chops, he's got it ALL!!
i know it breaks with tradition but listen to how cool this sounds...(& with an open mind now...)...
the blondie stones!!
they could go on & on forever, like mike love's beach boys...!

taylor's contribution as a full fledged rolling stone from his solid riffs and rhythms and lines from inception to basic tracks and overdubs and onto live performances is just immeasurable...he's looking very well, playing super well; seen a recent liv clip on utube...has lost NOT a hair of his technique or talent...nor of his beautiful spirit...
the whole 'keith retired and is replaced' thing is so ridick to me i won't even cover that...no one has to be replaced for someone of great ability and earned legacy (that the stones should be grateful for, as they are still selling that same catalog live each night for a huge part of the two hours)...
to be given respect on par with dave effin matthews or christina effin aguilera...should be a given...but...it's being mick...heh heh.

well, goes to show ya, even the most famous and powerfully talented rockers of all time can be a petty, insecure, and ungracious little snots...
i'm sure clueless marty will clear this all up with his superior vision and powerful documentarian acumen.

...personally don't expect it nor anticipate a celebratory inclusion of taylor...whass the story behind the hof induction anybody?? i've forgotten, if someone would be kind enough to remind me, seriously fortten, but i know he showed up too...and was inducted...

maybe we can blondie inducted retroactively? he can probably dance too!!...dang, let's get blondie his due...

live with me, country honk from let it bleed...
the entire 'get your ya-ya's album...
honky tonk women (ever hear that one?..purty catchy)
i recommend sftd, oh carol, little queenie, stray cat blues, midnight rambler and several others...but don't know why people won't just grow up and move on...
why is everyone fascinated with mick taylor on this board!' you ask/declare??
hmmmm. maybe something to do with
that sf album cause of that
Brown Sugar (lotta people like that one too i've heard)
Sway, Wild Horses, Can't You Hear Me Knocking, You Gotta Move, Bitch, I Got The Blues Sister Morphine, Dead Flowers, Moonlight Mile

dunno why but people seem to go crazy over that shit...but they do...
then there's:
Rocks Off
Rip This Joint
Shake Your Hips
Casino Boogie
Tumbling Dice
Sweet Virginia
Torn And Frayed
Sweet Black Angel
Loving Cup
Happy
Turd On The Run
Ventilator Blues
I Just Want To See His Face
Let It Loose
All Down The Line
Stop Breaking Down
Shine A Light
Soul Survivor
If You Can't Rock Me
Ain't Too Proud To Beg
It's Only Rock 'N Roll (But I Like It)
Till The Next Goodbye
Time Waits For No One
Luxury
Dance Little Sister
If You Really Want To Be My Friend
Short And Curlies
Fingerprint File
Dancing With Mr. D.
Coming Down Again
Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker)
Angie
Silver Train
Hide Your Love
Winter
Can You Hear The Music
Star Star

and those two motion pictures he was featured in, i think one was called 'gimme shelter' and one 'ladies and gentlemen: The Rolling Stones...or something close to that...not sure, but i think all this has something to do with these records and songs and movies and stuff...
let's see, in the band from '69 to '74, two songs on bleed, all of ya-ya's, sf, exiles, iorr, ghs and two seminal concert movies...brilliant world tours...how many world tours?
i think there's some connection here philmag, hope this helps you on your search for a satisfying answer to your query. so that's 5 or so years in the band, in which they were taken into the modern age of concert performance etc...
i think sometimes people feel that just cause taylor was in on first rehearsals, creating the templates then cutting basics and leads, organically with other four stones deserves some kind of big whoop or something...

not a bad few years on the job, i'll admit that...but people are so nostalgic, i hate that...
lookin' for forward to the steel wheels/bridges to babylon concert night myself...no warhorses of course...mick taylor is all over every rolling concert that has taken place since he joined the band in '69, including this week...

Nice comments about Taylor.

Replacing Keith is surely out of the question.
And 3 guitarists on stage sounds wierd... but wait, they do have Blondie there...so why not Taylor instead ?

Taylor instead of Blondie would be perfect , also bill as a surprise playing live.

thnx for great pic Erik..god bless pete, he knew what he was doin' in that shot i think...

it's a still so i don't want to read to much into one particular shot but jagger's body language is almost never photographed like that...he's covering himself up, holding himself off...taking himself in his own arms...he's protecting himself...and pointedly looking in the other direction tho pete has an arm around each of 'em...
again, just a still and one moment in time, but it seems jags is doing everything he can to physically look in the opposite direction and point his attention elsewhere...weird...

i'd like to see that vid footage if it's around somewhere...
and if anybody would be kind enough to relate something of the story of that night, the 'jam' whatever...i actually missed all that...just read who showed and saw some press clips at the time...hungry to know more...

also, i don't see taylor ever returning to the stones...or wanting to, or being wanted particularly...nor will there ever be a stones without keith for me...
i don't even care if they never have taylor or bill back for a nice warm guest shot...or say, a couple of rehearsed songs or something...would be nice for all but i'm not advocating it...merely responding to a poster who couldn't seem to get what the 'big deal' is with taylor...but i suppose if someone dosen't figure that out on their own, i probably didn't need to type in some of resume...bless 'em all, livin' and passed....most amazing and fluid and brilliant rock and roll band ever...stu, brian...
mick jagger, keith richards, charlie watts, bill wyman, ron wood, mick taylor...
hats off to nicky and jack and billy, r.i.p. and good health to mac and, ocf course, to all the current 'modern-era' crew...

again, i'm not looking for them to attempt to replicate a band of over thirty years ago with their personnel...(tho they are with the setlists) but some generosity, respect and support for taylor, and each stone is important to me, and it would be nice to see the glims give bill and mickt a little more respect for sure. lots of fan love for bill on the forum i've noticed...so cool...

i still do think at least a fat handful of the 9 non-stones could be replaced and/or omitted, to the benefit of the band's vitality...and once a 'full stone'...it's history...it's forever in ya and on ya, and in the culture hugely...keep on rockin' goin' round and round...never stop rockin....

It's not too often one see Jagger like that, but I remember pics from the press conferances of the 90s - where Jagger had the same crossed arms -
but yes, the shots from R&R HOF with Taylor are a bit tensed
