the sound of it, yeah - but the lyric reminds me of a cross between Thief in the Night and Gunface

I think that "Under The Radar" has more edge that "Child Of The Moon"!

From the very first time I heard it, something about it sounded very 60's to me.., I don't know how to put it... Something ,maybe, about the succession of the chords that makes me think so.. And the production and arrangement sound quite Voodoo Lounge to me... I really really like that song, too bad it didn't make ABB!! Mick's voice and the way the guitars reflect the lyrics... Am I making any sense??

Who the f*ck is Mick Jagger?

Hi haven't posted in a long time and really not that often. Anyways Urban steel hit it right on the head with the I'm Freee comparison. I feel that it is much more like a cross between I'm Free and Gotta Get Away. It has the same groove and feel, except it hasa much more modern rock sound to it. In fact I never really thought it sounded like Child Of The Moon at all. I don't hear it. Actaully the first time i heard it i thought it sounded like Angel Of Harlem by U2 which is essentially a revamping of I'm Free so it still the stones being the stones.
For what it is worth I think Under The Radar is one of the greatest stones songs in the last 30 years. It is a true and pure sounding stones song. A shame they felt it didn't deserve a place on A Bigger Bang.

I agree, great song and should have been on the album. Would also love to hear it live.

Well, I´m happy! Thank you for this fruitful discussion. It reminds me of COTM because of the singing, i think the chorus of UTR is a little bit similar to the beginning of the singing from COTM

I made a comment in a post awhile back that Micks singing style on UTR reminded me of Child of the Moon. Glad to see I'm not alone. For me listening to UTR gives me a strange feeling- like being thrown back to the late 60's psychedelic era.

Thank you very kindly, yes, it really throws me way back to the sixties, except productionwise

Yeah I guess you are right that the vocals are drawn out like Child Of The Moon, musically thought it is much more like Gottao Get Away and I'm Free, with a Voodoo Lounge production. Hey here is a badass laterday rare bstage set, Highwire, Jump On Top Of Me and Under The Radar

this would be THE bstage set, I´d like to hear highwire live, really

Under The Radar is quite similar to I Go Wild, I think.

Under The Radar is not similar to I Go Wild, cause Under The Radar doesn't suck.

i agree with both of you. IGW is one of my absolute, all-time fav stones tracks ... one of the most incredible songs the glimmer twins have ever recorded, in my opinion ... and UTR is a close cousin.
