and the other guest musicians are sometimes laugh about Keith and making jokes on the Stones of how bad as musicians they have become. I mean, Darryl, Chuck etc, they are all excellent musicians who can play circles around the Stones in their sleep. I sometimes wonder if "the guests", when they're are sitting together after a show, talking about embarrass moments on stage and how bad Keith was again and that they cannot believe that people pay hundreds of bucks just to see and hear something like this.

i can't see that happening but one of them has mentioned how stagnant the setlists are (then took it back 'cos he shouldn't say that in public)

i definately don´t want to know what chuck or darryl are thinking.
but at the moment, if there wasn´t chuck there wouldn´t be the rolling stones.

was at the stones concert at murrayfield in edinburgh in 1999.

the next day we went for a drink in the hotel and some of the stones musicians were there talking.

we earywigged into the conversation but could only pick up bits and peices.

one of the things mentioned was how ronnie was p1shed during the concert and wasnt on his best form.

Yes!. Perhaps they are very good musicians, but they don't created something like Gimme Shelter, Honky Tonk Women, Sympathy For The Devil, Brown Sugar, Yesterday Papers, Let's Spend The Night Together, Start Me Up, Tumbling Dice, Under My Thumb, Sweet Virginia, Miss You, Rocks Off ................

that´s correct, this the difference between a musician and a songwriter or composer.

They are playing for money to fed their families.

there's a huge difference between being a technically "excellent" musician
and a musician that can express themselves the way the Stones do...Keith, Ronnie and
Charlie FEEL the music and have their own unique, soulful style. I'd
much rather hear this (flaws & all) than someone merely playing the
notes on the page.

exactly, but i think it´s not about flaws. it´s about a certain timing, style, phrasing, ideas. music can not be written down and can not be played from the page.

I'm sure they bitch about them... we do as well, don't we? And it would be typical for musicians to do so, that have been to schools, unis, etc. I don't think Darryl complains about their playing - but perhaps about the setlist, yes.

Who does not bitch about their boss at one time or another.

I dont think anyone who has been lucky enough to guest with boys the last 15 years or so, has said anything negative about them. they dont live in fantasy worlds of wondering what the stones are doing, they're actually playing and hanging with them. so I highly doubt that they talk bad about them.
