I know there has been another thread but why did charlie really stop playin his drums when keith's guitar did not work anymore in the end of the first solo the playback went on and the other side musiscians also kept on playin so why did he stop? that is quite strange a drummer should never stop, at least he is the last one to stop thank god mick took over control again and began to sing without mick the stones........
Not only did he stop but he walked away from the drums and THEN Keith stopped playing.... Maybe Keith had technical problems, too, but that was not the reason why Charlie stopped playing.
yes, charlie stopped BEFORE keith. that´s strange.. maybe he had a cramp & had to do " a little walk".... when it happenend i thought "now the end of the stones had come - charlie isn´t there anymore"... very very strange feeling..

No, Keith "solo playing" went out of control, then suddenly the guitar wasn't listenable and same second Charlie stopped playing while Keith was "marching" to the right site of the stage.
Looks like Charlie was about taking care of Keith. Next, Keith went to the stage monitor mixing board telling some words, took another guitar and played on.
In the meanwhile it was Chuck who brought the band back on track.

Walked away, well it´s not that he said goodbye to everyone and left but he left his drumkit and went out of sight before coming back, but it was a matter of a few seconds, don´t want to give any false impression...

you mean his guitar suddenly ceased to be audible, right? what do you mean happened before that: his playing "went out of control"? in the youtube clip it sounds like there's some feedback at one point - is that what you mean? sorry to have to ask, but the clip is way too muddy to tell what's going on.
i agree the youtube clip is muddy and so was the sound there. i can´t really tell you about keith, i haven´t noticed problems with him, and don´t really think that he was the problem here. but everybody noticed immediately when charlie stopped. thank god there was still the loop who helped mick and chuck to keep on performing until charlie came back.
My wife nor I can believe that Charlie would just get up and walk away from his drums during a show like that! UNREAL! It almost makes it sound like he was sick of Keith's shitty performance! Keith screwing up is nothing new! That is Keith! But Charlie walking off stage! That is something new to us! Even if it was only for a moment is saying something! WOW! Fred Hardin Pleased to meet you........
Yeah, I just read the review Ron Blank wrote about that! It sounds like simmilar issue took place then too! WTF? This is weird! Thanks for pointing out the previous time this happend with ssoul! HHHMMMMMMM? Fred Hardin Pleased to meet you..........
in east asian countries, 4 is an unlucky number, (sort of tantamount to our own 13.) buildings dont have 4th stories, airplanes dont have fourth rows. perhaps stones shouldnt have 4th shows!
*and i'm just like that bird - singing just for you*

yes, apparently Charlie left his drums for a few seconds at Frankfurt. Keith's guitar went dead as well. from what people are writing about it it sounds like a rerun of whatever happened at Ottawa 05.

Charlie also stopped drumming at a show in Atlanta that I attended in '02 at the beginning of "Gimme Shelter"...everyone was off the beat so Mick furiously began clapping the beat and they started up again. It was really weird. The only time I've ever seen that happen with them. I didn't know WHAT was going on.
My guess would be that there were probably some serious monitor problems and the band lost track of the beat, Charlie got pissed off and took a short break...
it was more than that - if you read what people reported at both shows, Keith's guitar went dead as well. i can't find the Ottawa thread on shidoobee anymore, but i remember reading about it at the time, and people who had a real good view of the whole incident from the onstage spots said it seemed like Charlie couldn't hear the percussion loop, which he needs to keep in time with on SFTD; and Keith was offstage yellin at the technical guys (he's not a fan of the loop even when it's working right, i gather).
meanwhile it seems like a lot of people (at both shows) apparently didn't notice anything wrong, or else just felt: "oh, interesting new arrangement".
