Some guy re-posted a version of it on Rocks Off.

If you do not appreciate the talent and importance of Chuck then please give us some intelligent comments rather than telling us how frustrated you are. By the way it is against the policy on IORR to offend individuals. Common practice among normal sivilized people is if you don't have something nice or interesting to say then don't say it. I see some people don't like Chuck. For reasons I can't tell. May e jealousy. Want to take his position on stage. Want only 4 peeople on stage. What do I know. But please use common sense and some decency when posting.

PS. If something is deleted on IORR then it is because that bit is not supposed to be on IORR.

I for one like Chuck - one has to appreciate his influence in the setlist! Without him I guess we wouldn't get the great setlist that we get on this tour. Also, his diaries can be very entertaining.

I'm sure about that, Gazza. Love the way how he interacts with fans from the B-stage - he always sends big smiles down to the crowd. He's cool, in a very special way.

I'm glad Chuck is back with his diary. It's a good read and gives us some insights into the Stones family. And besides, he is such a nice guy. If you like it or not - the Stones need him - and they know it. Some of us don't.

Such ungrateful posters!

No one has really mentioned that it was CHUCK'S IDEA that Mick and Lisa do "I Go Crazy."

Loved the way Chuck emphasizes this in his blog. I find it hard to believe that Chuck was playing James Brown records much in the incredibly segregated state of Georgia in the 1960s but I do know that Mick Jagger is an authority on James Brown's music and was hugely influenced by him. And I don't think Chuck had to introduce or explain the song to Jagger, of all people.

In Paris last week -- love dropping that in now that I'm home and poor -- Chuck sounded just fine on "Honkytonk Woman" and that's all I can say re his contributions to the show. He's a lucky guy who replaced some really wonderful piano players who truly contributed to the Stones sound (and were far too down-to-earth to have ever dreamed of self-important "blogging.")

Same way Bobby Keyes has been lucky. By the way, Tim Ries was quite impressive in Paris.

I would LOVE to ghostwrite a Keith blog... Here's a sample.

"Last year I almost died, and many people seemed to be concerned and praying for me. But now that I'm actually pretty healthy they seem disappointed. Love my playing one night. Declare KR is washed up the next. And the odd thing is most of them weren't even at the gig. Charlie Watts liked my guitar jam at the Stade but what does he know? I mean he's not posting on a website and doesn't even have a blog to call his own.

We missed ya at the baseball game, rule, but think we're gonna come up to see Ian MacLagan in Atlanta. See the Mac thread for time and date, etc. What ever happened with the Skynyrd exhibit?

In Chuck's book, he says he played in integrated bands and in black clubs in Tuscaloosa/Birmingham back in the day. Also says he was ridiculed/criticized about it. ABB (Allmans) was an integrated band from the start.

I'm still on jet lag, guys! All I really wanted to note was that NO ONE has to explain James Brown's music to Mick Jagger.

But I have spent a huge amount of time around a variety of Southern musicians for more than half my life and am well aware of their diverse thoughts on black artists, segregation etc.

Sorry re placing Chuck in Georgia instead of Alabama in his growing up years but the two states SHOWED similar views re "race music" and race generally in the 1960s. And few white parents wanted or allowed their teenagers to spend much time in black music venues. Revisionist history and wrong assumptions bother me a great deal these days so to quote the late great RVZ..."Excuse ME!...."

Regarding Lynyrd Skynyrd, Elmo, not sure what will happen re a LS tribute this October. Greed came into the picture re assorted promoters who want to make it a for profit situation. I can't go for that.

For the record, when Lynyrd Skynyrd made their "debut" at a big bash in Atlanta in July 1973, there were a number of guests, young and old, who raised their eyebrows to see that two black men, Julian Bond and his brother James, had been invited and attended.

Chuck's got a great gig and I'm happy that he and his wife have a wonderful lifestyle on the road and enjoy telling others about it.

Hell, I'm from the back woods of Georgia and we think Alabama is still behind times.

If a man and his wife get married in Bama, move to Georgia, and get divorced, are they still cousins?
