was that mick looking back at the band wondering why the chorus didn't seem to be kicking in behind him at the end of the clip...?
i don't know what to make of all these critiques; too many to ignore. things sounded good (rough but heywhynot) to me up to that point in above clip... i did briefly listen to satisfaction which they have in full there on utube...and it seemed scary lost...will listen more...but more focused on the next shows...
i have felt for a long time tho that when they finally scale it down rather than building mini-cities for a cheerleading squad vibe, they will get fully connected to it again...(partially why i'm always fighting like a dog to have full performances docuement the beacon shows on film)... ...keith was just fine at the hof recently, and that was a jam where he had to find the key and chord and just go with it; he was clear and sounded great and seemed relaxed and healthy...so i am not getting crazy alarmed or anything...
but there is something sad about werchter for sure, and gazza had a post about the bigger picture of performance dynamics and such on one of the threads that really nailed it; said a lot...

EXACTLY, Erik. Thread titles like this are an abomination.
You can't make any logical comparison. Brian was a young man when he died and that was a tragedy. Keith's almost 64, has led a wild life and suffers from arthiritis in the fingers. I think he's entitled to look a bit washed-out but never washed-up.

Keith looked and played disgracefully at Werchter. We've all seen him drunk and wasted plenty of times before, but I've never seen him this bad. This is complete rubbish - how can anyone justify such ridiculously high ticket prices to see some drunk, shambolic wreck of a man, a former great guitar player who now plays....well, nothing, basically - seriously, the guy is no longer a guitarist - he can't hit the chords, he can't solo, he can't remember the words of the songs he wrote......you know, there are plenty of old alcolholics living on the streets here in London, and they will try and busk a few bars of some shitty old song, and will only ask for 10p....not 150 pounds!!! We need to wake up and stop excusing this shitty contempt that Keith seems to have for his fans..

well, I think you should go home and listen to your albums. Nuff said.

look, I love Keith, and I love the Stones. i have followed them all around the world, and have seen them 25 times since 1995. I play guitar and my guitar style and inspiration is based on Keith's playing. And I have tickets this year for Paris, Dublin, and all three London shows. But we need to be honest here - the guy played like a complete amateur in Werchter. Admit it, it was complete rubbish. And that is fine if you're playing in a crappy bar band. But when you're charging 100s of euros or pounds, fans can legitimately expect that the lead guitarist at least makes an effort. I will go back and listen to my old Stones albums, because at least there I can hear the Keith Richards that I love - the innovative, talented songwriter, not the washed up old wino that now masquerades as Keith.
Peter Buck offered to help Keith with the key and changes, and K said it's ok man I'll just wing it. Which is cool, but anyone with git 101 can do that. Then he played Chuck licks which we all love! But there seems to be a lack of effort! I'm very concerned with these reports. But the STONES ARE STILL IT! Cheers!
