Not exactly a Bigger Bang Album show...but a damm fine set!

great set list, but c'mon; -this is the 2nd leg of the euro ABB tour and there should have been 2-3 songs off it. keith could have done one, or mick could've sung RFD, BOMH, LIND, DTF, or especially *UTR*!!!...but they didn't even rehearse hardly any of those except BOMH....any many of those are some of their best new songs in 24 years.

I think the setlist has two weak points:

1) The fact that it is a shame to call a tour "Bigger Bang" and just play one song, even the most overplayed song from that album during the OPENING NIGHT !

2) Songs like Rocks Off, Some Girls, CYHMK,but especially Slipping Away and IORR have been played more than just frequently since 1995, I would have expected more something they've never done before in Europe in some cases (like Shattered which has not been done since 1982 and Waiting On A Friend which has never been done).

Result: If they would have played She Was Hot instead of Some Girls and something new from ABB (maybe Laugh I Nearly Died) instead of the warhorse Tumblin' Dice or the welcome, but not surprising CYHMK and Under My Thumb instead of IORR and Out Of Control instead of Sympathy, I would have been satisfied.

Erik said it right: forget the name and the stage, it's not A Bigger Bang anymore. I don't expect them to promote ABB anymore.

I was in Werchter and heard some great songs and didn't hear Miss You. The setlist was far better then I expected. Didn't care for I Go Crazy, but hey, Lisa needs her showcase, right? The crowd loved het bit.

Haven't read it anywhere yet, but I thought Ronnie was surprisingly good last night...

Very disappointed at the total neglect of the new album. Fingers crossed for August.

Isn't ' A Bigger Bang' a reference to the fireworks?

I can't believe this... Always the same sh*t... Yes, Keith was drunk and yes, there were not a lot of ABB songs, but I mean, who cares???

Obvisiouly they listend to the fans this time(setlist), they gave us a great time and still people are moaning...Were those moaners even there last night?

BV, please creat a link on this wonderfull site, called www.iorrfm.org ( iorr for moaners); so they stay away from this board, were most of the members are happy with the fact that they are on the road again.

PS: Ron was so good last night, CYHMK was so hot....and I love Keith when he's drunk/high/happy...

CYHMK has been played on ONE tour since it's release - and even then it wasnt a regular

Some Girls was played regularly on the US tour in 1999 - its ONLY ever European appearances were that year at a stadium show in Germany, one in Austria and a theatre show in London. Its ONLy appearance since then was at the 2nd Beacon show last November. Its a fair bet that hardly anyone in that audience last night have ever seen the Stones play it

Considering She Was Hot has been played only 3 times less than Some Girls has in Europe even though its 5 years "younger" thats not really much of a difference

It's only the first show. The amount of shake-ups since last year is, by Stones standards, pretty substantial. Traditionally, they often get more conservative as the tour progresses.

I agree with your sentiments re: the lack of ABB songs, but to expect a 20-song set of your own preferences before youre 'satisfied' at a show you werent even at is asking a bit much, in fairness

i like the setlist as well. (though i think it has one to MANY songs from ABBust)

but your general point is an important one: the StonesTaliban thinks it has a right to dictate what opinions people are allowed to have. (See Lewis, Elmo etc.)

This has nothing to do with the setlist. The name of the tour is not linked to the setlist. And Rough Justice cannot be overplayed my man.
