There are only 20.000 tickets sold for the werchter concert.A Belgian newspaper says that the Belgian fans are tires of the stones,the tickets are to high and they don't trust it anymore since keith fall outbthe famous tree.

They will probably cancel the show because who cares about 20,000 people, so we have to go and see Garth Brooks or Macca instead. Good thing they have 1000's of great beers in Belgium so I will have no problem finding an alternative to these options.

they also say in the paper "are the stones too old or too out",it's not alone a bad ticket sale in belgium but also in all the other european countries.

that's right,and we getting faster to the beerstands,everyone on the front and we have a great time !!

We have heard this bad ticket sales over and over even during licks...AND YET THE STONES AND COHL FIND IT FINANCIALLY FEASIBLE OVER AND OVER to mount a massive road show with hundreds of support crew on the payroll and the four Stones travelling in the utmost luxury.

Somehow the legends of Cohl's ( and Jagger's ) greed and business sense just do not add up to the reports of years of empty venues and what would be mounting losses.

AND even if it is true about venues not selling out, somehow there is a profit. So the next question becomes why do it this way? Well, has not the band stated that they want to be seen by as many people as possible? SO TO MEET THIER GOALS (NOT OURS) WOULD IT NOT BE BETTER TOP PLAY TO 20000 AND HAVE 10000 EMPTY SEATS then it would be to fill an arena with 15,000 and turn 5000 away? Now I can tell you as a fan, I would much rather be in a stadium only 2/3 full, then be amongst the 5000 that could not get into an arena.

Part of the problem with crepe hangers and set complainers is that IT IS ALWAYS PRESUMED that what would be the goals and dreams of the poster are the goals and dreams of the Stones. At this point in their career, nearing 50 years, the guys should be allowed to do and most probably are doing excatly what they want to to do when they want to do it. Arrogant? Sure, but the Stones have been arrogant since before Altamont. They have always said "here we are, take it or leave it." I tell people all the time, "if you don't want warts don't play with the toad."

If you don't like what you see, do not go. And as a little suggestion for those fretting about legacies and such, perhaps AFTER you have mounted your first successful international tour you should worry for Cohl and the Stones and their disaterous ticket sales. Otherwise it might be best to trust the fact that some of the most successful people ever in the world of entertainment just might know what they are doing.

The comment inferred that 20,000 great fans just do not matter - to me they DO as THEY bought the tix!

It's a festival ground. Can hold up to 90,000 people, but usually restricted to 75,000. As far as I know, 60,000 tickets were printed for the Stones.
Apparently (because this number is coming back for 3 weeks already), approximately 23,000 tickets are sold....
But tickets WILL be available at the entrance (or you may get a below cost ticket from a scalper while walking from the parking to the venue)

We hear this "ticket sales panic" every leg of the tour- as if someone is placing bets in Vegas and will lose a fortune if they don't sell out everywhere.

I predict that in the end most places will be filled to at least 80 percent of capacity and there will be a very small number filled less than 50 percent.

I'd like to repat my Q:
Is there other places than Frankfurt & Werchter with bad sales?
Because in Scandinavia (slight exception of Oslo plus partly maybe Helsinki)
tickets vanish like butter in the sun.

El Ejido for sure (I´m seen at last days even promo in TV) and people say than Madrid, Barcelona too..... not sure about this
