No i like it but if we talk about great records it would have been
The Doors - LA woman.

In their case it's the first and the last album that are the best. Jim on fire, Jim burnt out.

Happy Jack mentioned the Kinks' run from 1967-71: Somethin' Else-VILLAGE GREEN-Arthur-Lola Vs. The Powerman-Muswell Hillbillies. Agreed, but I'd go back one further and add Face to Face ('66) to that list.

The Kinks pretty much did no wrong between 1966 and '71. But they became wildly erratic thereafter. The concept albums only had a few great songs, and the Arista records had a lot of arena rock pandering. Maybe Ray Davies was bitter about not being allowed to perform in America during their much of their heyday and felt compelled to try to make up for lost earnings with songs that were beneath him (Destroyer, Back to Front, etc.).

Foxtrot / Selling England by the Pound / Lamb Lies Down on B'way by Genesis
Funeral / Neon Bible - Arcade Fire
Vanishing Point / XTMNTR - Primal Scream
Joshua Tree / Achtung Baby
London Calling / Sandinista

It's weird that you guys are not mentioning the very first Roxy Music album. One of the best.
