I think they began to stink already after Wonderworld.

I bet you saw Kaipa back then...

Let me nominate the following for the category "worst albums by major artists":

- Michael Jackson - Invincible

- Bryan Adams - Spirit the Stallion of the Cimarron

Genesis' Calling All Stations is not really that bad, it's just somewhat lackluster.

The funny thing is - though the Dylan/Dead CD is pretty bad!! - Dylan himself cites his working with the Dead as a turning point in the "real slump".

It brought back to him a joy of playing - not that you can hear it in that particular CD. Unless you could somehow get on the same drugs as Bob and Jerry - maybe that would help? Dobt it, somehow ;-)

One of my biggest failures - musically - was to not go when asked to go to a Grateful Dead concert sometimes in the mid 80's. Only later have I discovered their greatness!!! Damn!

Dylan started doing random setlists during that tour, something that he's largely kept to ever since

The scary thing after that experience is the fact that in early 1989 Dylan was obviously so disillusioned with his career that he actually asked the Grateful Dead could he join them as a full time member.

Even scarier, they almost went for it. The whole band save for one member (I think it was Phil Lesh, although I may be wrong) voted 'yes'.

.....speaking of Dylan and the Dead......I am really loving this 2 CD set called "Garcia Plays Dylan".......it's been out for awhile (maybe since 2005?) but I just bought it a couple of weeks ago and I can't put it down....I love those Jerry Garcia guitar solos......and for you Stones fans, Nicky Hopkins plays on several of the songs.......they are all live, mostly with the Jerry Garcia Band, some with the Dead......released from "the vault" by Jerry's estate.....
