What is a DOP? I found this on the Shine A Light forum on IMDB:

by Slickflix (Sun Mar 25 2007 22:00:27) Ignore this User | Report Abuse
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just glanced at the DOPs working on the project. Some big names there. Robert Elswit, Robert Richardson, Emmanuel Lubezki, Andrew Lesnie. Ay carumba. I'm guessing because of the timespan the film is covering he hires a DOP for each concert, etc. Impressive.

Same in another thread:

Has anyone else noticed that everyone from Robert Richardson, ASC to Emmanuel Lubezki, ASC, AMC helped shoot this thing? I mean jeez, according to the credits, they even operated their own cameras!! I just think it's really remarkable to have such talent on this project.

Is it just camera men?

I think it's short for Director of Photography - chief of a cameracrew.
