.... I was thinking, you know snakes like to eat mice. Maybe if you can borrow a Boa Constrictor or 15 - 20 foot Amazon Anaconda from the zoo and put it in the room he might just track "Mickey" down... One thing though, DO NOT FALL ASLEEP with the snake in the room cause he might wrap all around you and squeeze so hard your eyes could pop out before you die because you can't breathe, those snakes are much stronger than you think so be super careful Rooster my friend...(PS. Don't get a Black Mamba cause the poison aspect is a pure bitch to deal with - OK? Thumbs Up Mate !!! Good Luck.....

i was going to suggest the same! we've just be using one called "the tomcat" to catch and release mice.

i used to do the same with rats in washington, dc. they're everywhere there!

Lukester, absolutely 100% right about those "Urine Stream Crtters". It's funny cause the first time I ever heard about those was in Andy Warhol's "Interview" magazine when Andy interviewed Mick after he came back from the Amazon when he was working on the Herzog film that he couldn't finish. Jagger keep bringing them up to Andy - they were at dinner - and said you have to pee in an arch (for guys only on this one) so it's too steep for them to go up the stream of urine. WHOA !!! Damn it man !!! Nature is SO mystifying !!! Can you believe that TOTALLY bizarre exotic sh*t !?!?! Who needs THAT ?!?!?!

So true Queenie, there's big f-in' RATS all over Washington D.C..... I've used that "tomcat" before but I think I was using the deluxe "TomcatDelay II" one. It works really well. After it "catches" the RAT it looks through it's wallet while it's stuck to the sticky stuff.....

we had a mini invasion of field mice a few years back. harmless but you need to get rid of em

i was sitting typing on my keyboard and saw something from the corner of my eye. and there it was, tiny fur ball sitting in the middle of the room just staring at me

lovely thing. until i caught it and through it out the bedroom window

Agree with Erik. Feed it, make friends.

Just a little developed reasoning:
Me and a pal stayed in a cabin for almost a year,
it was out in the deep deep Mid-Swedish forest...
A forester's cabin...
This was in the extremely mild winter of 1989-90
(this was before "Global Warming", all seasonal and
periodical climate changes back then were due to "the ozone layer"
or the "ozone hole".... Well... )..
Loads of mice back then. My friend (Eriks was & ios actually his name)
tried to feed & tame them & Mark All My Messages read if he didnt succeed.

They ate from our hands. But; there are always other alternatives.

I just saw a spider in my room. It has been in here for 2 days but I finally got rid of it by catching it in a cup and putting it out the window. Those little guys are fast! I kept trying to catch it and it kept escaping under my dresser or fridge.

Rooster, all I can tell you about the interview in Warhol's "INTERVIEW" magazine is it was done shortly after Jagger came back from Peru working with Werner Herzog on FITZCARRALDO (hope I spelled that right). I know the Stones 1981 tour is the reason Mick had to pull out so if you can find the Magazine on line I would start with 1981 issues. Jagger was on the cover. I have the issue deep in storage (like I do ALL issues of Rolling Stone Magazine since 1969 - to sell when I have time) but getting to the issue would take hours. I'm gonna Google The Jagger interview myself to see if it's on the internet somewhere. Tell me if you find it - good luck (I'll tell you if I do, it was a good interview - very loose, Warhol was like that with his magazine's interviews)

...You can glue some cotton balls to it, tie a cute little colorful ribbon around it's neck, and say it's a "TOY MINI POODLE" - carry it around the way Paris Hilton carries her little dog everywhere. You do that Rooster and a million babes will stop to pet your poodle and tell you how cute it is...call it CHAZ or TRIXIE (boy or girl, your choice)... good luck, don't forget to buy a big box of condoms for when you soften up the babes...

Rooster, do anything you like but for God's sake: DON'T poison the animal. If it wasn;t for the mouse, do it for yourself. I lay poison once and after a few days the poor animal crawled out of its hiding and died right in front of me in broad daylight, all dried out, its little corpus torn open from it's throat to its groin - now that gives you bad sleep!

Instead of that: get a ruler and a bucket, balance the ruler on the edge of a table or stool (make sure the animal can reach it) with a piece of cheese on the end of it and the bucket underneath. Make sure the bucket is smooth from the inside. The mouse will drop when running for the cheese and you'll be able to galantly release it in front of the neighbors' house. Before waving it goodbye, be sure to give it a little rucksack with some cheese, toast, milk in it so it makes it at least till lunchtime. Life in the wild can be tough these days!

Mrs E is absolutely right! My cat left one in my slipper for me a week ago! Imagine - just back from work, shoes off, slippers on - oh, there's something soft at the end of this one, shake it and a mouse falls out. Still alive at that though almost dead. Yep, she'd tortured it until it was almost dead and then left it where she knew I'd find it so as I could praise her. Very clever little thing. Naturally I gave her a fuss and congratulated her.

FYI the 1981 Andy Warhol interview with Mick is reproduced in this book:

It's a very amusing interview. Of note, Mick says the forthcoming Stones album will be titled TATTOO. There is an interview with Keith where he said that was supposed to have been the title as far as he knew and he didn't know how the "You" got added.

mousetraps work...lived in the mountain woods in nh for many years, so i've experienced this dozens of times over the years...especially on rainy days/nights...cats work too...so does a machete if you are quick enough...heh heh.
but mousetraps are great...simple, cheap and deadly...
that sticky bait stuff also works, but then the thing struggles for hours and days and ends up half flat and all gooey...but it's easy to just throw away the whole tray...i suggest the common mouse trap...if that dosen't work...light the place on fire and stay outside with binoculars and a shotgun, it'll have to run out sooner or later...then blam...they are vermin that will live, die and breed generations in your walls for decades...u don't want an infestation and they live to breed and eat...like anything else i guess...
kill it. period. it's not very cute when they are dead in your wall where you can't get to them and clean it out.

I can't believe the fuss over a cute little mouse! I have 3 cats and twice over the weekend our cats caught a tiny field mouse and dropped it at my feet! I caught him, put him into a shoebox and let him go under our pine trees! I KNOW the mice find their way back in but I just can't trap them or kill them. It's a seasonal thing, they stay out in the summer it seems!

rooster, here is a true story. many years ago when my brother first starting smoking pot he would stash it in the drawer of his nightstand..Now this was when we use to smoke pot that had seeds in it.(not anymore)....But he would check the drawer the next morning and all the seeds were all eaten with just the shells left.....So yes those little critters do like the herb.

If you see one mouse, be very sure that he/she has a growing family somewhere not far away! Sooner or later they will nibble everything in the house that isn't shut inside a mouse-proof container, and dribble urine over everything else, so they are not good house-guests in spite of their cute faces.

The old-fashioned mousetrap looks gory but it is quick and much more humane than poison. Keep setting it until you stop catching mice - you may be horribly surprised at how many there are. If you want to live and let live, use one of those humane things and release the beastie a LONG way away.

I haven't got any resident mice in the house, but my cats think that my mouse-catching skills leave a lot to be desired, so once in a while they bring in a live one for me to practise on. So then there's all the turmoil of chivvying it out from under the fridge or behind the bookcase, and throwing it safely outside without letting the cats catch it again. That's when you find out just how quick mice can run - and the ungrateful little b*ggers BITE too, when all you're doing is saving their lives. Still, live mice are better than my old cat, who used to bring in a dead one and sit and eat it in the middle of the living room carpet, crunching it up like a stick of celery - Yeucchhh!
