Actually, now that I think about it, Steve was playing a brown Les Paul Junior on the Anarchy tour in late '76. Could it be the one Keith played in '73 Europe and when he guested with Ronnie at the Kilburn?

I think Steve's white Les Paul Custom was Syl Sylvain's, courtesy of Malcom.

And one book (England's Dreaming, maybe) says that Steve broke into the Royal Albert Hall the night before a Bowie show and ripped off some mics and monitors - having all that gear lying around eventually inspired he & Paul Cook to start playing.

Or something like that - it's been a while and I'm hung over.

Sohoe - I just went to the website, and they appear to have pulled the 'achives'. There's an iPod link for archived shows but I don't know if theres a charge. I hope not!!

Today Steve played '10,000 Light Years...'. They replay Steves first hour from 6 -7pm PST. I'm listening to it right now. He just played Rush's version of 'Summertime Blues', followed by 'Five Foot One'. He kind of slagged off on them but played it anyway. Who else but Steve would do this? I think they rebroadcast the second hour 12 - 1am PST, but don't quote me as I'm asleep/passed out.

Steve Jones is indeed one of the sharpest guitarrists ever. The term 'slashing' was invented for his style. An on I listen to his station a lot.

"...no longer shall you trudge 'cross my peaceful mind."

Today Steve opened the show with 'Winter'. When's the last time you heard that on the radio? Never? He then followed it with a Faces song but I forget what it was. Duh!

brilliantly put; and how exciting; THIS is the kinda thing that made radio so fascinating and diverse in the sixties imo. only better in that he's got no playlist. i find this very unifying and exciting actually.

and thanks for the link to the stream and the show archives! in an earlier post above.

Are these shows mp3/flac archived anywhere, for download?
