How long does it take to get from gare de l'est to Stade DF?
I'll be arriving there at 4.

edit: I see on google earth it's only 1 metro stop away.

And when does the airport bar at Orly open on a sunday morning?
I need to catch a flight at 7:45 - no sleep, but lots of time to kill after the gig.

how about you check out the "some girls" bar in the bastille?

it's on a tiny charming street and not far from the bastille metro stop. i was lucky enough to stay at a cheap hotel just a block from there in '03, where the undercover people, along with nikki sudden, happend to be staying.

Thanks Queenie,
I've heared a lot about the Some girls bar but its good to read that their closing time is 5am.
Seems the appropiate place to hang out and then move on to Orly airport.

ah - poor Nikki, he used to live 2 blocks away from my place.
he'll be watching the show from TOS (top of stage)

To be honest, St enis sucks big time, except for the basiliquye which is worth visiting if you have interest in Churches, history and architecture.

If not, stay in Paris as long as you can, enjoy the city, meet some friends and move to the stadium by 6 PM
That's what I usually do

As Doc says, apart from the Basilic (which is worth visiting) there's nothing else to see in St Denis.

For those going to the Père Lachaise cemetery take Metro line 3 (Père Lachaise station) which connects with line 13 that goes directly to the Stade de France.

Can think of so many things to do in Paris that wanting to stay in St Denis seems like a crime. Not that you can't do whatever you want but....

One of my favorite things to do in the world. Sit at a pretty outdoor cafe, drink a few and watch the people go by.

in saint denis, it would be sit outside a kebab stand, drink a flat warm beer, and watch cars get torched.

not a happy place.

Well that's a bit of an exageration, but St Denis is one of the poorest Paris suburbs. Not dangerous if you go to the Stadium or the basilic, but the kinda place where to hang out.

....and professional pickpockets that steal things out of your bagpack. It was a hell of a concert last year but a nightmare the morning after the show for me. But I'll go again next week and this time I will not wear all my belongings on my back!
