O2 vs. Estadio Jose Alvalade

Does anyone know if the O2 was designed by the same guy? These are the only 2 stadiums I've seen with those strange yellow beam things...

The strange yellow beams are part of the millenium dome, the original building built to celebrate the millenium (year 2000).
The O2 arena is INSIDE the millenium dome, and is only one part of the complex, which features bars, restaurants, a nightclub, a 2000-seater theatre etc etc...

Oh OK - thanks for clarifying that, Jimmy - so anybody know if the Millennium Dome was designed by the same guy that designed the Estadio Jose Alvalade? LOL

The Millenium Dome - now known as The O2 - was designed by Richard Rogers, finished in 1999, just in time for the new Millenium.

You are the MAN!! Thanks so much!! I assume the yellow beams serve an architectural need, but I don't think we have anything like it here in the US, and I remember distinctly standing atop the hill with the meridian in Greenwich last summer looking down at the dome and thinking, "look at the giant crown they've got built over there." LOL
