I'm listening to Mick Taylor tear up a mean solo on Little Queenie on this Australia boot I just got. Now a very good version of Rip This Joint, Better than the Toronto show I just listened to.
Ian Parker - Your Love Is My Home. He`s a young British guitar player.. Rather an Eric Clapton clone, actually, but his performances are VERY enjoyable!! Saw him play a couple of months ago. And I saw him do an acoustic set yesterday, which was even cooler!! Seeing him AGAIN this afternoon in an electric set. Should be enjoyable too!
Can You Hear The Mobile, Rotterdam 1973 tour rehearsals posted on Tell Me by mm07. there's 3 versions of CYHTM with (i think) keef on the guit-organ sound that drives the song, and some 2 horn arrangements on one. also has 100 yrs ago and Hide Your Love. it's like you're right there in the mobile studio outside of rehearsals making your own illicit tape; sometimes it's muffled, sometimes you fidget or hide the mic when someone comes in, sometimes it's fullblown glory. sound quality *pales* in comparison to things like the trident studio jams or other tour rehearsals, but because of what's about to happen (brussels, etc) and who's about to never tour with them again (preston, taylor) and these 3 GHS songs being rehearsed, this quirky little lo-fi collection has become one of my faves in just 24 hrs.
Just put in Bridges To Babylon, there goes Flip The Switch!!
Nice album yeah.. just finished A Bigger Bang.. hard pick but I think I`ll go for A Bigger Bang in that case.. love Bridges too, though!! The lyrics are really awesome on Flip The Switch..!! I love Too Tight too!!
Was standing in front of my CD collection just now and.. considered putting on Thriller by Jackson.. hate me for it but it`s such a lovely album!! Infact I didn`t feel like playing it because it`s so beautiful.. I have good memories.. the song touch me so much!! Really, really awesome. Although there are better songs in the world, as a complete album, this has to be the best one to ever be released.. every song is right where it should be.. perfectly produced by mr. Jones.. Michael singing with so much feeling!! Absolutely fantastic!!! So I decided not to play it.. it makes me cry really!! Which is rare..
What songs make you cry?? Moonlight Mile definetly makes me cry.. I remember, I was in love with a girl once and every night before I went to bed I put on Moonlight Mile and listened to it in the dark.. reminds me of her.. well it never werked out with her.. I saw met her again a week ago.. and still she`s so beautiful and kind.. well no!! Can`t think like that.. she wasn`t interested back then.. I felt a groove between us again but I bet she wasn`t feeling it.. although she must have!! Then again she knows I`m OCCUPIED.. by that crazy woman!!
Anybody Seen My Baby playing now!! Absolutely better then I first thought it was.. sounded like an overproduced popsong.. I get it now though!! I love Mick on this.. the vocals are great!! AND Ronnie`s phrasing too..
Here goes Lowdown.. I like it too!! It`s so recognizable.. I love the lyrics.. like all Stones song.. they show so much vulnerability but still they show power and optimism!! When I was young, all I heard was the groovy beat.. but when I learned to speak English a whole new world opened for me.. these guys UNDERSTAND!! What your friends and family don`t understand..!! That`s what makes `em so great and they sound so for real.. Well well!!
I think next I`ll play a boot.. or still play Thriller and sit and cry.. no.. it`s a quarter past ten here in Holland now!! I`m planning on going on `til three fo sure!! School holidays.. I go to bed in the morning and wake at noon.. love holidays!!
Ah now playing, Already Over Me!! IT`S SO FANTASTIC!! So emotional and intimate.. Mick and Keith at their best.. Ronnie creeping in with the acoustic slide.. Charlie layin` down a solid groove.. your men not your fool.. and then.. SLAP!! Wait... ARE YA AAALLREAADYY OVER ME?! Guitar.. break.. so exciting!! I think listening to music is like watching porn.. it`s good.. but with music, after there`s been a climax, you go on!!
