Where y'at, Karl? They all ask for you!

Right after the storm, they thought they might have to relocate the fest, but they got the fairgrounds cleaned up in time for last year's fest.

It seems unbelievable to me, since I live here, but the local tourist commision still gets calls from people thinking that some of N.O. is still underwater.

The only part of N.O. that is underwater is the tunnel under the Harvey Canal, and that has always been underwater. Know what I mean?

Stop, you're torturing me. I can go for a 55 gallon drum of that Phesant/Quail Gumbo at the Fairgrounds....of course a tasty treat from Mother's as well.

The poor folks at Jazz Fest are getting hammered with wind & rain right now.

Almost looks like a hurricane outside my window.

If you are ever in New Orleans on Mother's Day, Irma plays every year at the Audubon Zoo. Great place to go with mom & the kids on that day.

That's great news for my friends down there....knowing them, this will give them a chance to sleep. LOL

We're taking bets on how many hours of sleep she's been getting. She's down there both weeks..I'm saying she'll get 20 hours for two weeks...that's being generous. smiling smiley

I just found out the bus drivers down here are staging a sickout. I hope your friends aren't depending on public transportation!

Hey, I just remembered Chuck Leavell is supposed to play today!

I wonder what that curly hair looks like after it's been rained on for 45 minutes?

Hey edith Grove , I heard about the rain at Jazz Fest. It is a shame I have been living in South Louisiana all my life and never been to jazz fest. I know it is absolutely fantastic. One thing I do wish that the Stones come back to New Orleans and pay us a visit a concert. Would be cool, they had not been here since 1994.. How could I forget the Superdome concerts. Man they owe us I think.. I think they forgot about us here.

It was on IORR that the Stones were rumored to play the New Orleans Arena on 11 March, 2006. Just after the hurricane, that date was removed from this site. Leads me to believe the Stones would have played here if it had not been for Katrina.

Turns out there was an event at the Arena that day:
a Billy Graham Crusade. Talk about going from one extreme to the other!
