Thought I'd chime back in on this thread since I got to watch this whole dvd. The dubbing of the sound is pretty bad in some spots however the footage is just amazing to watch. The footage seems to be in different fragments so I doubt there is a complete video recording out there and I guess it would be impossible to match up the audio any better than its done here.
Someone out there has to have more footage from these years. If the Stones recorded all their shows since 69 I wonder how many were filmed on video and what the quality is like of these.
On a separate note, I notice video cameras in some of the pictures I have seen of the 1975 Buffalo shows, wonder where these tapes are...
I have a DVD with silent and very fragmented (not a single complete song) Super 8 footage of MSG 25 July 1972 (same concert that was partly aired on the Dick Cavett Show). It also contains some silent audience footage from '70, but I don't remember which show. It doesn't really matter, though, as the quality is terrible and not even worth keeping. The snippet I've seen from this Milano '70 film is a lot better.
I've long been thinking about dubbing sound to the '72 footage and making some kind of collage of all the fragments, but it will probably take a while before I get the time and software to do so. I grabbed the DVD from Dime-A-Dozen over a year ago, so I'm definitely not the only one who has it, but it seems pretty rare nontheless.
BTW, thanks a lot, Hound Dog, for telling us all about the Milano DVD. It's all very interesting to a geek like me.
