i just downloaded from dime bob dylans 2 shows in amsterdam from april 8th and 9th- he sounds like a 90 year old man who can barely talk- im just wondering if anyone has seen him in the past few years, and is that what he really sounds like live

I saw him in Brussels. I wasn't really impressed although he sings better than last year IMO. Still, I miss the interaction with the audience. He didn't say a single thing. We knew that but...
Saw Dylan last November here in Portland Maine--Raconteurs opening act--all I can say is that he blew the roof off the place-- was outstanding-- very little interaction with audience but the packed house was blown away. Great band, and Dylan was really good
I saw Bob in Gothenburg Sunday 1 April (and it exists a very good recording to download from Dimadozen). First time I saw him and I decided to not build up any expectations. But he put on a great show with a great selection of songs, several from Modern Times and some classics like Like A Rolling Stone, All Along The Watchtower, It Ain’t Me Babe etc. The good things were that he obviously sings better now than he has done for years and he also played guitar on the first four songs before he was entering the keyboard. The band was on stage for ca 1h50 if I rembember correct. He did a quick introduction of the band between the two encores which was the only words he said during all the show. Not a single word between any of the other songs. And no “Thank you” after the show. But that’s the way he acts, I understand. He’s a living legend and nice to have seen him live. But the real effort nowadays is done by his great BAND. Even if Bob sings better than before and play guitar on some songs I have to say that he sings very badly and his guitarplaying isn’t much to talk about. So with a living legend and a great band of musicians you can deliver a great show.

These 2 are good. Somebody posted the Copenhagen concert in the "Hot Stuff" section in mp3 quality, if you need an appetizer...

I'm thinking is there meaning at all in the phrase"he sings very badly, etc"?In this case Ledbelly,Woody Guthrie,Hank Williams,Muddy Waters,Mick Jagger, many others, they all"sing very badly".No,Dylan sings and plays exactly right to express the songs.Ingwie Malsteem and Luciano Pavarotti'd only spoil them, though they are great in their own art.Of course,it's up to everybody and each opinion ,if it's honest ,should be considered.I think,Dylan'd be effective even without any band.

I saw Bob last October in Long Beach and enjoyed the show more than I had expected. I've seen him several times in the past, but this was the first time I had seen him since he switched to playing only keyboards. I thought Bob's singing was better at the show I saw than in the previous times I had seen him and his voice perfectly matches the music on the Modern Times album.
I see from tonight's setlist that Bob played the first 4 songs on guitar. When did he start playing guitar again in concert?
A real nice setlist in Glasgow for sure! Halup, Dylan started playing guitar at the club gig in Stockholm 17 days ago. THere's a thread about it somewhere. Yes he's got a very good voice these days. I've been listening to that Long Beach show , it's a good one
...thanks Bingo....hey does anyone know for sure if the Never Ending Tour will touch down in North America this summer?..............I'm ready for another Dylan fix......

I saw him April 9 /A'dam for the first time in my life. Very impressed, great voice- good band . Only the Ahoy 2003 Stones show came close. Any other Stones show between 1989/2006 does not come close He does not talk. So what? The guitarists play actually guitar, no posing and lots of new - unknown songs.
