this was between the licks and the ABB tour. Did Mick have something done with his hair? A hair-transplantation or something? His hair looks fairly thin on this picture... his dad was also bald...?

I wouldn't call that "going bald" or "thin hair", he's all sweaty in those pics. I look just the same if I'm in a hot place

Yes he is losing hair and has lost hair for many years. Treatment, maybe some surgery done. Good hairstylists.

Tell ya a surprise: not all men do become bald.

The going bald gene comes from your mother, so it doesn't really matter if his dad was bald or not, you'd have to look at his mother's father or other men on her side of his family to see if it runs in the family.
It doesn't look to me like he's going bald, just that he has a weird hair cut/style going on. Maybe he needed a trim?

Many, many men start losing hair or turning gray LONG before they are in their sixties. Interestingly, this genetic trait is inherited from a man's maternal grandfather.

I would be surprised if the Sotnes weren't balding and/or turning gray at their age.

how do you know this? Did Mick say this himself in an interview? Or did you get some special insights from someone in the Stones camp?

My old man is 62, havent lost a straw, not one grey straw.
You'd be surpised to see how common this is. He's not the only one.
Me, at 43, can see most men of my age are a-greyin' and a-baldin'.

when your young and you comb your hair, your concearned about how the front part of your hair looks. As you get older you care more about how the back looks!

Balding only affects approx 30% of us dudes.

Hope I won't be in that 30% on the next years.These kind of thread make me feel very bad.Don't make them much older that they really are.Mick looks great in my opinion.

It should be stated that on some people baldness is becoming. MJ looks better with long hair.

i see what mrrockandroll is talking about - it appears he grows long the hair from the middle of his head, possibly to conceal a receding hairline. it explains why if he has a part, it seems to be in the middle (i'm a fan of side parts myself), but he sure pulls it off and he looks great!

I don't see any hair plugs?,that said it looks like it might be at the end of a song? O yea Jagger just stand's there when he sings,so his hair must be perfect,i forgot about him not moving during a concert.

there's definitely a gap of space, but like i said, he wears it well...
