fantastic stage really, amazing in design, innovation, size, lighting, screens, etc. Best stones stage yet, change the opening video though, add pyro from the stage at the beginning in addition to the fireworks...

I agree. Something must be differen to make it a true European Tour and not just some globetrotting circus. Oh, wait, we are talking about the Rolling Stones. Of course, it will be the same.

Same setlist formula too...7 warhorses, 3 "newer" songs, a cover song, a some girls song or two or three, and a coupla B-sides....
Don't think they'll be able to use the outdoor Bigger Bang stage at the O2... Perhaps the one they used at The Madison Square Garden, or the South America stage, as used in Bergen...

Surely it will be the indoor arena stage (MSG, etc). Not sure what you mean by "South American stage as used in Bergen." In Bergen they had an outdoor version of the arena stage (like at the Hollywood Bowl), while in South America they used the outdoor stage with the "tropical" ornaments.

Spoke with some of the crew while they were building the stage in Bergen, and they said it was the version used in South America. Don't think they had "on stage seating" there, either...
Why wouldn't they use the Bigger Bang stage in Nijmegen, or for the same sake in Werchter, Slane or IOW? Because of the floor (grass/mud?) it has to be built on?
I don't know, but I suppose the stage area's on a lot of festival sites are strong enough to carry the stages. So my guess is ABB-stage in all places, except maybe for IOW, which is a festival.

I don't think the Rio stage, which is the one on the photo you posted, differs much from the one used in Bergen, if you take away the "ends", and that's what the stagebuildes said. "Modified". Anyway - for huge outdoor shows - with enough space, we get the big version of the Bigger Bang Stage. The smaller outdoor events, get another version. Like in Bergen, there was just not enough space for the big stage. (18.000 people) Arenas get an indoor version, probably previously used at the MSG.

During the tour announcement, Jagger talked a bit about the stage and said it would be great in places like Werchter because it's an open field.

Don't forget that they had many shows without a cover song, for example Saitama 2006 but also many of the 2006-US-fall gigs.

the structure in bergen is preexisting and a modified arena set was used. nothing like SA or AUS/NZ. the only outdoor shows with a modifified indoor show set were bergen and hollywood bowl.
They are using the full stadium stage with no onstage tickets this time. O2 will be the arena stage used in the US. The Bergen stage was just the arena stage under a roof and the South America stage was just the regular stadium stage infront of a different backdrop.
