What are you saying StonesTod, that Dylan stands on stage for most of the show sans guitar? I used to see him all the time live and he ALWAYS had a guitar strapped on... Give me the details, thanks....

he's been playing exclusively the keyboard since the Santa Clara Oct. 14, 2004 show...and for the most part he hasn't played the axe since the fall of 2003.

I'm going to see him next monday in Copenhagen, if I can get my ticket in time. My ticket is somewhere in the postal system right now, but the postal service in my town is on strike at the moment, so it's not to say when I will have my mail delivered, but hopefully before monday, or else I have to make an alternative way to get my ticket.

Great news, can't wait till Easter Sunday.

Incidentally, it also means we will be able to se his face again!

multiple theories abound. weight of guitar on his shoulder has been bothering him. honestly wanted a keyboard sound in the mix and nominated himself for the job. eyesight problems prevented him from reading lyrics from monitor - could read them more easily from keyboard. others, too....

This is great news...I've been waiting YEARS to see Dylan strap it on again. The keyboards just don't cut it...esp. since he is such a great gun slinger.

The funny thing is Dylan fans used to complain about his guitar playing -- that he always took meandering solos and didn't leave more room for Charlie/Larry/whoever to play. As soon as he puts the guitar down they're all clamoring for him to play again.

i never complained - he was never a virtuoso, but he always made his three-note solos interesting - much the way BB has always done....

Ecstatic to see it....hope he plays it in the States, too!

uh-oh - at this rate he'll be done with the guitar 4 shows from now! What's almost as surprising is the sparse use of the harp so far - only one song for each gig - he was playing ALOT of harp in '06.....
