With respects to DB, they've filled in that gap a few years back!

My first concert was ABB in Macon in 1975 AD (after Duane). Wet Willie (remember them?) opened.

Betts really smoked that night as did Chuck Leavell. Gregg = coked-out.

They can never fill the hole left by Dickie. Who can sing Blue Sky, Ramblin Man, Back Where it All Begins? His country sound balenced and complimented Gregg's blues perfectly. Its not the same band.

kf64, let me add "Seven Turns" to your list. Good post (and I really like young Trucks).

i just wish Derek could have waited one more day to bolt from the EC tour - i caught the first non-Derek show the other night. Good, solid show, but Bramhall's a hack and his slide fills did not make up for Derek's vacancy.

I saw them twice with Dickie and Derek. It was the best line up since the original.

They played their first show on Tuesday (a private Big House benefit show). The setlist was great, opening with Hot 'Lanta and closing with Into the Mystic and One Way Out. I kind wait for the real run to start - last year was great. I've got all shows on CD and each one is better than the last.

The Allmans are quite possibly the greatest live band in the world. I've never heard such a solid group of improvosational musicians in my life.
