All the guitars on stage and keith's guitar is signature keith and so easy to pick out from all the guitars. great to listen to keith play non-stones material.

...beat me to it Open G.............Keith is so recognizable in this performance.........it's unmistakeable and very much turned up in the mix..........love it.

It looks like the lead singer from REM is loving Keith take center stage with his groovin riffing. Keith sure sounds good glad they had the sense to have keith high in the mix.

Is that Stephen Stills on the green Strat? Jeez, he's so fat he looks like he ate Mick Taylor!

yes it is S Stills.....and Paul Schafer eventually pushes him out of the way to get Keith up front.

God, Stills was playing horribly. His "solos" were sloppy, forced and inconsistent. I can't believe he had the balls and the confidence to take as many solos as he did when he played such bad notes.

You can tell Paul is a huge Stones fan (not only does he and his band play Stones songs on Letterman all the time)..he knows Keith on stage--he wants him to take solos and be heard. Good thing he got Stills back...I can practically hear Paul saying "Ok, pal enough is enough."

First I thought I was hearing an awful fiddle, but no - it was S Stills with tons of reverb.
He was a pain in the, err - neck.

loved Keith, tho.

Good to see and hear Keith. I missed that number the other night,
didn't last that long. Thanks, OpenG.

Post of the week! I love a good Mick Taylor fat joke, god help me!

Did you hear that Taylor, Stills and David Crosby are getting together to cover "I Am The Walrus" for a new Slimfast commercial?

"Time can tear down a building/or destroy a woman's face" (one of mr Jagger's best couplets...a very underrated songwriter IMHO) ;-)

All the while rockin' a wicked Dylan-style 'stache. He'll outlive us all, you know.

open G is that you?

keith is the Riff-Master.the whole front line(stipe, hagar, smith, vedder etcc)is in awe of keith.patti smith must be in heaven hearing her meta-hero rocking her anthem.i'm curious how keith+steven stills get along all these years after(according to robert greenfield)keith bounced him out of his hotel room in denver in '72.stills bugged out when he wasn't offered coke at post-show party, threatened to cut keith w/a knife("i'm gonna call the @#$%& out")was utterly strung out+embarassing etcc
dope weirdness, probably forgotten, possibly not remembered.funny they're randomly onstage together tho.
stills might have played piano on 'dead flowers'at a concert in 71 somewhere-
keith played same chuck berryish guitar w/ jim carroll(patti smith ex)on 'people who died'in summer 1980 at trax club nyc
sorta funny,no?
'people who died'+'people have the power'

bust a gut funny; laugh of the week!

Keith was truly awesome. So cool, no "guitar face", just pure riffing.
Look at Stills, nice guitar work but his shoulders are locked up, "guitar face", etc.

....certainly no exxageration, Keith is absolutely magic during this performance......... Obviously he was inspired by something......his playing is very intense.........he just cranked out a magnificent performance at the end of the show......the notes he was registering throughout were signature perfect......bodes well for the Europeans this summer!.........and maybe the rest of us lucky to hear some boots!

Keef was brilliant. The rest of the guys on stage need to take note.

the "group song" thing usually doesn't do much for me (and ronnie spector sounded pretty bad, i have to say) but i agree that keith looked and sounded great - put the rest of them to shame.
