I'm always surprised when I hear british rockers speak in an interview and sound so very British compared to when they sing. Mick loves American music, Country and Blues songs. I was wondering what people thought was his most successful affected accent.
What is his best accent on a Country song? WHat is his best accent on a blues song?
Well, there isn't "just one" American accent as there are many. Go to Boston, New York, Texas, California and Hawaii for example and each is entirely different.
Far Away Eyes is probably Mick's best attempt at a Southern (USA) accent though...
The dude has so many accents it's hard to keep track...The one on EVENING GOWN is pretty good...love the FAR AWAY EYES one...love the New York one at the beginning of DANCE Part 1...
As Ronnie Wood has said "Mick is a nice bunch of guys"
Yes i do like''Spare'' Lonely Hearts just made to break''great!! And ''We Had it all'' that whole period incl Undercover..is pure gold!...and yes Thanks Rockman Im Rocking to that rocking sound of yours!! Talk about diggin in R&R history!!Thanks..and cheers..thanks and bang..cheers!!!
Actually, I don't think Mick can pull off a realistic affected accent for a whole song but I think certain lines in Melody or Going To Memphis are good for Southern blues accent and Dead flowers is decent for a country accent.
crashed out in the bathroom, in the arms of my best friend
It isn't on a song, but in Being Mick he does an ok American accent. I think it is in the "home videos" section. He is trying different hair styles (for The Man from Elysian Feilds maybe?) and looks at the camera and says "the comitte of the hair has just left the building." It took me a second to realise it was him, but that may have also been due to his weird hairstyle.
Mannnn!!! Im hanging in the ropes....rope a dope...a real KO album..just in time..I mean people..me...well..its back to school R&R shool but I likka!!!
