How can a ticket agency take your money in return for tickets, but then for whatever reason go out of business and subsequently NEITHER give you the tickets you bought, NOR (and this is the bit that I need the explanation for) give you a refund ?
How the bloody hell does that work ?
I completely fail to understand how this can occur ?

I would think it must be due to the way the bankrupcy laws are wriiten in the UK

A lot of local musicians in my town gave their CDs to Tower Records on consignment. As soon as Tower declared bankruptcy, those people were not allowed to take back their CDs.

Brokers. it's not Ticketmaster, like one of those companies currently advertising booking for London 30th June and Paris. They don't have the tickets and you pay through the nose if they get them for you.
