Just one information: Don't take your own car to Prague. You may never see it again. Enjoy the city - it's beautiful!

I'd rather check up their beer...

I don't know which parts of Prague you visited but we have been several times to Prague within the last 4 years and always went there with our own car(s) - and they have been either latest models of Mercedes or BMW and they always came back home safely ;-)

Let's say it this way - if you're checking out the good Czech Beer, don't take your own car. get a taxi winking smiley

Maybe you have been lucky or I was unlucky. But haven't you heard of the night the Stones played in Prague the last time (2003) when about 100 cars were stolen? Mine was one of them.

If I was a car thief I would certainly raid the P-lot during a Stones gig..
Or... err... Would I... ? No! I would be FOS!

Jeez! no - I never heard of that! I'm really sorry for that. :-(

But where did you park? we parked our car in a garage downtown near the theatre that night... and it was still there. Did you get your car back?

but anyway: when visiting Prague you don't need a car so it might be useful to drive there by car, park it in a guarded garage and then walk the town or take a ride in one of their buses...

This piece of information might be outdated:

I visited Prague about 5 years ago, and as I remember, there was a record shop on the same street as the National Theatre. I bought the Welcome to NY on vinyl there. Can't remember if they had any other boots for sale.

I'd say the shop is definitely worth a visit.

The ONLY stones related things I found in Prague last summer (I had planned on the Brno show):

A huge picture of Mick's wax head at the front door of their Madam Taussad's museum. Right in the middle of the shopping/tourist area. They know he's a fan of Prague...

Go to the Communist Museum - very interesting and you'll learn about Mick's friend, Vaclav HAVEL, the political activist turn president - he was at the first Beacon show!! Clinton introduced him...now that's a star...

A couple of years ago, there was a superb record shop near Charles Bridge. There I bought the original "IORR" single fromm 1974 for 1€ .... lots of rarities could be found in there, also stuff from other rock and roll legends and artists. But sadly it was closed and replaced by an internet cafe. Looked for it elsewhere because some people said they just moved but never found the new place ...

I guess the shop your're talking about is exactly the same I was missing when I was in Prague the last couple of times - it was still there around 1998/99 but then it was gone :-(

Yeah, probably. Was a really good shop offering also posters, stickers, postcards and the like. Bought some very interesting stuff in there ... but it was gone when we celebrated Mick's 60th birthday in Prague inn 2003 ...

Come to think of it, I actually found a bootleg shop in Prague once!
If you walk out from the Muzeum tube station, you'll see that muzeum at the end of the broad road/place in front of you. If you take the bigger street to the right from that bigger placa you will find a record shop on the left, after about 200-300 meters. They had loads of Stones bootlegs two years ago! Can't describe it better, I'm sorry!
