Some time ago there was a post dedicated to the great people you have the chance to meet via IORR and stones circuit in general. Well, to remind me how true this is, yesterday I bumped into the copy of the 2003 olympiahalle boot that the great Mr. Sjouke once sent to me.
Great memories, of course. Now, rockers are not sentimental, so who cares about the memories, but what about the music?
Absolutely great!!! Probably I was not in the sonic G spot of the halle, but I truly did not remember realising on the spot how good it was (in fact it was a blast, but I was not as excited as I was at the MSG).
Great set list and truly great performance. Focused and non invasive plink plonk and BUps. Huge dirty guitar sound. Great performance by the band.
This was my first Stones-show, I was in the age of 16 and I was shocked, how hot they really are...much, much better as I ever supposed to. Starting with a frenetic "Street Fighting Man", later great numbers such as "Heartbreaker" or "Love In Vain". Funny thing - I got to know a man in the age of about 50, for whom it was his 140th show and it was the first time for him to hear his favourite ballad (Love In Vain)..he was a bit jealous that I got to hear it at my first show^^.
All in all, great show, maybe the best, I've ever seen but Stuttgart 2006 was at least very close to it. Maybe its due to the atmosphere in Southern Germany :-)
The set list (http://www.iorr.org/tour03/munich1.htm)

I think it fits about 10'000 - 12'000 people. I remember when arriving at the Olympiahalle it was really hot weather. During the waiting in queue a big thunderstorm came up. More surprising was the fact that it was not sold out... you still could get tickets for 10 Euro (!). Great memories of a great tour...
I remember that show, I was there in the arena close to the stage and was also able to get a good position, in front of the B-stage. I bought 2 arena tix on ebay for less than 100 Euro. It was the best concert in 2003 for me and the 5th best concert from more than 500 concerts, which I've already seen.

The crew from the Olympiapark was very friendly...I had the worst tickets you can can but one of these guys told me that in the best block were some free seats...so I got these!
I remember a friend getting stopped by Security because his MD recorder was bulging out his pants. Security Guys just laughed and let him in with it anyway;-)
Yes I also remember the thunderstorm being welcome because it brought some cloud cover to an otherwise STEAMY Summer Day!!
