No 2007 tour update
Posted by: georgeV ()
Date: February 23, 2007 07:00

It has been 13 days since there has been any update to what are still just rumoured show dates. Shows in cities or dates that could be changed etc. What is going on? Has BV been silenced by the machine?

Does that mean we can talk politics while he is being held hostage?

No "tour update" because there's probably not going to be a tour...

Its raining huge tours right now.
Metallica enters Sweden for the first time in nine years;
their date just got official.
Believe they will let the smoke clear up first.

They played in Gothenburg in 2004.

Strong indications it is NOT happening. (BTW, why would it be "wishful thinking"? very weird!!)

aslecs...Gazza is the master of 'fertile imagination' and 'wishful thinking', although I guess they're not really bad traits...could be worse!

Did anyone else hear that Sweden/Gothenburg might get two shows? 22nd and 24th of June??? And that Denmark, Norway and Suomi Finland don't get any shows...?

Considering the IOW tickets are pretty much gone already, I'd say everyone is in the same boat

hopefully its not a case of either/or

According to sources, there is still the possibility the band tours Europe this year, but if something isn't firmed up soon, they'll start to lose the usual back up people like Fischer, Fowler, Leavell, etc., because they will have committed to other things. The supporting players, while comfortable financially, still want/need to work, and won't sit around waiting for someone from the Stones' camp to call. The longer this drags out, the more real (very real) this possibility becomes. Which isn't to say the band still couldn't do something, but replacements would have to be found.

I don't know what is going on, but I'd suspect that if they are planning a tour
the supporting people have already been notified. They probably just wait until they get all or most of the dates set before releasing it to the public but the supporting people know way before us.
Now, I definitely think they should anounce this tour if it is going to happen so fans don't make other plans. But I'd assume the supporting players already know if there's going to be a tour or not.

Didn't hear that. Where did you get it from?
If there's any fairness they should do one in Sweden and one in Finland. Finland didn't get a show this time and the one in Sweden was cancelled. This way would be fair.
